Spotting - 3/4 weeks pregnant!

so I find myself writing this just for a little bit of hope and other people's stories.

I found out I was pregnant with baby no2 about 2 days ago. I'm unsure exactly how far I am as I'm pretty sure inoculated later than expected. My first day of LMP was 6th July which puts me at "4 weeks 4 days" but I personally believe I'm earlier than that. Anyway, since the day I found out I've spotted on and off every day. I'm so afraid I'm losing the baby, I know nothing can be done if I am, but because we actually tried for this baby it's making me worry so much more. I bled/spotted with my previous pregnancy so I'm aware it can happen and all be okay, but I can't remember if it was as frequent as this.

I'm definitely going to book in for an early scan but I also kind of don't want too incase I get told the worst.

The spotting I have is sometimes really light pink/orange and then I have had spells of bright red and one or two wipes worth. Never enough to show on a pad if I was to wear one apart from last night I felt a "drop" of what felt like wee but turned out to be a red drop of blood on my pyjama shorts. So god knows. I have had 0 pain. Sorry for the long post i just hope somebody has had a similar experience 💗

4 weeks 2 days... 18 DPO now. I haven't tested since Monday. The tests I've taken are attached below, from top to bottom:

12 DPO
13 DPO
16 DPO

16 didn't look much stronger than 13 so that's why I'm holding for to test again as I was hoping to see it match the control line on the next test.

@2020mission least they're getting darker though! I have no idea how far I am anymore, I started spotting 1st july then came on heavy on the 6th, but I think I ovulated late. I feel I might only be 4 to 5 weeks currently

Hey ladies my latest test this morning is very faint so looks like I'm having a chemical 😔 best of luck to you all with your pregnancies x

pineapplejuice20 · 13/08/2020 08:19

@2020mission just seen your post on the other thread. So sorry💕 it truly is heartbreaking. I'm still being tentative myself until I see the baby on the scan with a heartbeat. My bleeding has finally stopped but I'm still just as worried. It never ends 💔 wish you the best of luck for the future!

@pineapplejuice20 thank you for your support 💕 feeling pretty awful today - its never easy. I do hope you have more luck than me. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Mamainmaking1 · 13/08/2020 22:33

Aww I'm sorry @2020mission I was in the excat same position you are now in this time last week. I think your guy begins to prepare you before it is confirmed doesn't it? I retested today and it is now completely blank which I knew it would be as my tests had been going down in strength just like you and I was spotting every day until I started to bleed. It is the worst and I know excatly how you are feeling so I am here if you need to chat!! I'm so sorry this is the second time it's happened to you, perhaps worth speaking to GP and requesting a possible referral to a recurrent miscarriage clinic? I went to reflexology today and she said all was well round my ovaries etc - strange only one week after a m.c but I will take it as a postive I suppose. Be kind to yourself over the next few days Flowers I started another threat on chemicals and a few of us are going to be testing etc and going through the TWW etc at same time, you should join us as we have all been through chemicals so we can support eachother with worries others don't have.

@pineapplejuice20 brilliant news, fingers crossed me and @2020mission will you following you soon on the BFP journey Smile best of luck with your pregnancy!!

Oh that's absolutely brilliant news @pineapplejuice20 !!! Over the moon for you. Obviously it was just too early last week for them to see anything, hence the scare. Best of luck moving forward, really happy for you x

@mrsmummy1111 thank you so much 😊

Hi - I know this has been a while but i'm having the exact same course of event as you did and wondering if it ended being ectopic?

VioletCookie · 10/08/2024 20:53

Hi All,
I know this is an old thread but we've recently had a double embryo transfer, tested postive and have been bleeding/spotting brown for 3 days (I am 4 weeks today)
I'm worried it could be ectopic due to the bleeding, a few dizzy spells and at one point shooting pain down my groin/leg.
Can I ask how your pregnancies turned out? I've really worked myself into a state and the EPU won't see me for a couple of weeks
Thank you xx

pineapplejuice20 · 11/08/2024 07:30

@VioletCookie Hello! Firstly congratulations and I wish you a healthy pregnancy journey! My 3.5 year old little girl from this pregnancy is currently still asleep in bed, so I hope that eases your mind 😊 she still likes to keep me on her toes now, as she did in this pregnancy lol! I did have spotting throughout this pregnancy, but all was fine in the end x

Hi @pineapplejuice20 thank you so much for coming back to me! We've had a real crappy journey with 4 previous miscarriages so this is our last shot 🙏🏼 The EPU mentioning ectopic sent me over the edge and I've been slowly making it worse by googling 😅 I'm having HCG bloods taken tomorrow then hopefully a scan around the 5 something week mark to check.
I'm so pleased your pregnancy turned out well! Xx

pineapplejuice20 · 11/08/2024 15:17

@VioletCookie I think they always have to mention the worst possible outcomes, but I think you'd know straight away if it was an ectopic, it would make you quite poorly I could imagine but I've never experienced one to comment. If you're ever worried, just get in touch with EPU straight away! I spent a lot of time up there with both my children as I always spotted a lot during both pregnancies and never really got an answer as to why! Xx

VioletCookie · 12/08/2024 07:20

@pineapplejuice20 thank you for the reassurance. I'm only spotting now but cautious it could come back, as we've had so many losses they all tend to start like this. However my tests are getting darker and I'm off to get HCG bloods done this morning. The EPU can't book us in until the 28th unless I have more pain so we'll sit tight for a bit! The waiting/limbo makes me so anxious 🙈 I read some women can bleed around the time of their due period, this was as long as a period so I'm hoping it was just that! Xx

pineapplejuice20 · 12/08/2024 08:07

@VioletCookie our bodies just like to panic us! Wishing you a healthy, happy pregnancy! Keep me updated 😊 even though both my pregnancies worried me to death, I do miss the excitement of it! Xx

@pineapplejuice20 oh bless you of course I will! My HCG levels came back at 249 yesterday so 4+2weeks, so where they should be. The IVF clinic want to do an early scan and we're also in the care of Lesley Regan so she will want to as well. The furthest we've gotten is 7 weeks so hoping this is the one 🙏🏼 but also cautious anything can happen as we only have bad experiences. Thanks again for coming back to me, it's so appreciated xx
