Winter coats that fit over the bump!

As the weather has been getting cooler I've been putting on my overcoats and realising that there is no way they're going to fit over the bump much longer... certainly not until January!

I had a little scout around online and there doesn't seem to be an overwhelming number of maternity over coat options (probably because people don't want to pay a fortune for something that they might only wear for a few months?)

what to do? does anyone have a strategy or experience for keeping the bump warm as it grows beyond the bounds of the average overcoat?

Lots of good links here but if you don't want to spend too much you could always try Ebay or the NCT Nearly New Sale in your area. One of my friends just wore a chunky jumper with her winter coat unbuttoned and that seemed to work quite well too.

susiemj, it's working when I click on it, not sure why it's not working for you. But, if you try copying and pasting this address:

www.bitsforbairns.co.uk/shop_slings/kindercoat.htm

then hopefully it should work for you.

I got a wool-mix swing coat from Primark, for 35 quid. Not that cheap, but it has got wool in it! And it's so very gathered, front and back, that a small army could be happily accommodated in there.

Ladies get to Zara now!
All that talk of coats made me have to go there at lunch and they have just got in the most stunning maternity jackets which sit just below the hips.
My rule of waiting till after scan went straight out the window because they had smalls - they never had smalls so I just had to snap them up!
Beautiful swing coat style in black and stunning muted olive colour - bought both. £80 each which I didn't think was bad considering how much the ones in Formes are. And they are pure wool
Did the 'jumper up the top' trick to see if they would fit over a bump and they did - reckon I'll be able to wear it to 9m easily.
Also got some lovely smocky jumpers - they have such a lovely maternity range.
Get shopping ladies!

Anyone make any decisions? (except for Zara!)
Well spotted on the linign front with the red jacket. I've not decided. Anyone looked at this?
