Last week i went for a 4D scan. I was told my baby’s abdominal circumference is measuring small and i have more amniotic fluid than normal (27cm), up to 25cm is normal. So i’ve been googling and now i’m really scared! There is obviously something wrong with my baby Sad I’m seeing my consultant on Friday so will talk to him but i am so worried and scared now.

Please don’t panic!! My friend was told something similar. She was informed baby was more than likely to need emergency surgery as soon as she was born. Plans were in place to whisk baby away to children’s hospital as soon as she was born. Once baby was born she was perfectly healthy. Good luck op. Hope all is well xx

Thank you. That is kind of reassuring. I have already lost a child and to think its possible it could happen again, i just can’t cope with that thought but i am now thinking the worst.

How many weeks pregnant are you? I lost a child at 17 weeks. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I really hope things are ok for you.

I am 25 weeks today. My first baby i lost was 4 months old when he died. I went through the whole pregnancy and birth and then found out he was terminally ill when he was 4 days old.

Oh @Bigkingdom that is just dreadful. I am sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you. It’s so easy to say not to worry as I know you will. Fingers crossed your appointment with the consultant comes around quickly and you get some positive news x

@Bigkingdom, I hope you get some positive news today.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss OP.

I have raised levels of amniotic fluid and was extremely worried like you, however I had a really long conversation with a lovely consultant who answered 10000 questions from me and since then I have been so reassured. She said if there was something wrong it would be more than simply raised fluid and a big baby (as my baby is measuring large abdominal circumference) and something else would have been picked up on in the scans I'd had.
