Obstetric Cholestasis in future pregnancies

Hi there

Sorry this is my second thread today just looking for some advice.

I was diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis with my son but not until 37 weeks and I was induced a week later when my levels were getting too high.

My question is this - what's the likelihood of me getting it again in my current pregnancy? And secondly, am I classed as high risk immediately as a result of having IC in a previous pregnancy? I didn't get the chance to go to the birthing centre with my son as I had to be monitored throughout the birth, and I'm worried they're going to stop me from going there again "just in case". Or is it more likely that they'll just monitor my bloods and if everything looks ok they'll let me go to the birthing centre?

Just wondering if anyone out there had IC and wouldn't mind sharing their experience with subsequent pregnancies. Thanks!

Hi
Sorry not much advice, this is my 1st pregnancy with ic. I have heard you are more likely to have ic in future pregnancies but it is not for certain. If you have any symptoms I'm sure they will test you straight away.
There is a good Facebook group "icp care" and "icp support" which are great for any questions x
