Hi everyone,

I am currently 8 months postpartum and have been exclusively pumping since 6 months, if that makes a difference.

For the past 2 months, I have had positive opks (multiple times with different tests) but no subsequent period or positive pregnancy tests (again I have taken multiple). What is going on? Is it even possible to have positive opk but no period /pregnancy? I know cycles can be erratic postpartum, especially when breastfeeding /pumping, but I don't get how I can apparently be ovulating for two consecutive months but not have a period /be pregnant?! Any advice would be much appreciated.

Opks work by detecting a spike in lutenising hormone. Before every ovulation is a rise in lh, but not every rise in lh leads to ovulation.

Some people have naturally raised lh and opks won't work for them at all.
