Please tell me positive stories of spotting after period was due

16dpo, and 3 days late for period today and have been spotting for three days. Positive tests today and yesterday. Digital today.
The spotting was like a peachy, very light pink colour only when I wiped but today its brown and I have a spot in my underwear for the first time. I'm so worried I'm going to lose it. Please tell this is normal/common/healthy.

There are so many different experiences but I had light spotting from before I found out (thought it was period starting) pretty much daily until about 14 weeks other than a few short breaks. I also had 3 short incidences of fresh red bleeding so potentially it was all linked together as they couldn't find a definite cause. All seems to be going well now. Best of luck.

I had what I thought was a full on heavy period when I had conceived. Went to the 12 week scan to be told I was actually 16 weeks.
I also had bleeding 5 days before my 12 week scan (unknowingly actually 15 weeks preganant) worrying but luckily all was well.

I had brown discharge followed by red/pink bleeding for 10days turns out I had a thrush and also bleeding in my uteruses apparently all common in pregnancy
7 weeks scan showed heart beat now bleeding has cleared up
Try not to worry
I was told unless it’s heavier than a period and extremely painful it’s usually nothing to worry about
If your still unsure speak to your go he can refer you to a early pregnancy unit to rule out miscarriage/eptopic pregnancy etc

I had pain and heavy spotting about a week after my period was due with my third pregnancy. My gp was great and sent me for a scan. It turned out I had developed a fibroid after my second pregnancy (big gap between 2 and 3) and that was the cause of the spotting. After the spotting stopped the rest of the pregnancy was fine, and they kept a close eye on the fibroid throughout.

Thank you all, my spotting seems to have stopped now so I feel massively better, calling the doctor today to get things moving, gonna request a blood pregnancy test to make sure my levels are correct.

In our family someone went for a scan with a small bleed, was told to prepare themselves to lose the baby, and came out the scan knowing they were expecting twins. Had two healthy babies.

It can definitely go either way.

Hi OP, i had brown bleeding around 5weeks with some cramping on my left hand side and GP referred me for cervix check and blood tests. My cervix was closed and HCG was doubling so they didn't scan me. They said it was probably just some old blood.

Again had brown bleeding for 10 days when i was 10weeks. I didn't have any cramping and no red blood so I didnt get it checked out. I had my 12week scan coming up anyway.

All was fine both times and I am now a mummy to twin girls.

I spotted from 14 weeks to 30 with my first...he was 14 last week. I know its scary but try to stay calm about it, stress is not good for you or baby. If it gets worse or you get cramps or pain call your midwife or gp. Good luck x

Thank you guys. Still waiting for a call from early pregnancy unit, took a week indicator this morning and it still said 1-2 weeks so who knows what's going off.

I had bright red and brown spotting from a few days before my period was due (Like usual I always used to spot before AF).

Only ended up testing as it tailed off rather than turning into AF!

It's not always bad news so try to stay hopeful! Also spotting should be ok (that's what GP told me) - just keep an eye on whether it gets heavier!

My AF was late by 3 days and took pregnancy test yesterday and 2 days back. Both days I got faintest positive amd started bleeding like period today.
It's much more like periods and my GP said carry on like periods will recheck after bleeding stops.
Is it my real period or am I having chemical(I am not having any pain) or any Hopes to hang on still? Help me please

@Shinea that sounds like it could be a chemical unfortunately if it's quite heavy bleeding :(. All you can do is wait until the bleeding stops and test again!

I'm bleeding again, started brown yesterday but has increased and gone redder today. I have a horrible feeling this is the beginning of the end of this pregnancy 😔
