Just that really...
I’m 28 weeks today FTM and wondering when would be the time to get the bag
sorted?

I’ll most likely go 35 week. But for a lot of parents that would be too late!
My 1st born came at 42 weeks, so I will be shocked if this one comes early/on time xx

Monstamio · 22/07/2020 16:20

Finally sorted mine yesterday at 36 weeks. Third baby though so I'm more blasé about everything this time around!

latheritup · 22/07/2020 16:24

Can't remember the exact week but it was ready in November and I was due in February.

Dollywilde · 22/07/2020 16:25

I’ve had mine ready-ish since 30 weeks, just because I was sorting in the baby’s room at the same time and it made sense. Much to keen (I’m 37 weeks now and not a whisper of labour!) but I figured once it’s done, it’s done. I do have a list pinned to it of bits to add on the day (glasses, notes, water bottle etc)

I packed the majority of mine around 33 weeks and just added the last thing to it today at 37 weeks.....just today It's been moved downstairs in a 'ready to grab' location next to the front door.

Shmithecat2 · 22/07/2020 16:27

39 😂

HanPanPeg · 22/07/2020 16:32

I won’t start to think about until maternity leave starts but generally I think by 37 weeks is fine.

Mumoblue · 22/07/2020 16:34

Everyone told me to do it at 30 weeks but I kept forgetting to sort it and did it at about 35/36. I had to get induced at 41 weeks anyway so it barely mattered!

4amWitchingHour · 22/07/2020 16:41

I started pulling it together at 32 weeks, and then properly packed it and stuck it by the front door at 37, with a list of things to add in at last minute (am currently 40+3... grr).

I've probably gone overboard, but as my H doesn't drive and won't be able to leave the hospital once he's in due to the covid restrictions at my trust, wanted to be a bit overprepared rather than underprepared.

MeadowHay · 22/07/2020 16:45

I had a provisional bag packed about 36 weeks but I wanted some extra things that I didn't end up buying and sorting til I was 39 weeks. and then packed a few things on the day before I went in at 40 weeks, DD was born in her due date and I went into hosp the night before.

Dyra · 22/07/2020 16:52

I was aiming to pack mine at 36+4, the first weekend of my much longed for maternity leave. Instead I was admitted to hospital at 36+2, and didn't get to go home again until after I had the baby. I had to get DH to put the bag together for me. An experience I do not care to repeat for any future pregnancies.

Mine will be packed by 32 weeks next time. If not earlier.

Baaaahhhhh · 22/07/2020 16:53

38 weeks ish. First baby didn't have enough as had to stay in 10 days or so, which was a pain. Second baby, just took the absolute minimum as checked out in under 12 hours.

Saoirse22 · 22/07/2020 17:09

Started preparing it at 32 weeks. Completed it at 34. Now I'm almost 36 and so big and fed up I'm just thinking sc*ew it whatever happens, happens 😂
I'm sure I will forget something or I will have things I won't need at all.

I will prepare another bag of nappies and clothing and inform hubby about it just in case something happens and we need to stay in the hospital longer.

Peterbishopssarcasticsmile · 22/07/2020 17:11

I packed mine at 36 weeks then for some reason decided to half unpack it. went into labour at 37 weeks and didn't have half the stuff I needed!

Wolfgirrl · 22/07/2020 17:16

Around 26 weeks I think, high risk preg and knew daughter would be early but not by how much. She arrived at 36 weeks in the end!

I think it helped me feel more prepared as much as anything else.

vivavivaviva · 22/07/2020 17:22

First one, about 20 weeks as I was so excited!!

Second one 36 weeks, as 1st came at 37+1.

At the end of the day, most people have plenty of time to get ready, it's not like the movies very often!

Superscientist · 22/07/2020 17:36

I started packing at 30 weeks, as I slowly gathered what I needed and it was convenient to have it all in one place. I packed properly at 34 weeks.

Prettylittlelady · 22/07/2020 17:44

Thank you ladies - I think I’ll aim to have it done by 34 weeks 😊😊

I am 25 and a half weeks and started buying things for it about 2 weeks ago...and I am almost done 😬

20viona · 22/07/2020 18:42

Got bits together at 36 weeks, gave birth at 37 weeks.

happygolucky6 · 22/07/2020 20:29

I packed around 35 weeks. I went into labour at 38 weeks.

My partner didn't pack the snack bag.

Pack the snack bag.
There is only so much tea and toast you can eat.
