Hello all, hoping someone can help..
I have a ds aged 3. Been ttc for a Yr, have had 1 chemical pregnancy, 1 missed mc, and have fallen pregnant again v quickly.
I wanted to see Mr Shehata at his immunology clinic for NK testing but have fallen pregnant before my appointment!
I'm considering whether it's worth keeping--

  1. is NK testing accurate in pregnancy
  2. is it too late for me to have treatment anyway? I will be 5.5 weeks at 1st appointment.

Appreciate any insight! Thanks xx

Hello,

Sorry to hear of your previous losses.

I was due to see him last month, but by then I was 14 weeks so decided against it.

When doing my research on here, I came across a lady who went to see him at around the same point - had just found out and decided to go ahead with the appt due to multiple losses.

She tested positive for highly active NK cells - Dr S said it was highly likely she would miscarry, but did start her on medication etc and she is now 38 weeks pregnant...

It is a very hard call to make as it is so expensive, but it wasn't too late for her.... x

Thanks @ceebee21 that's interesting. How is your pregnancy progressing? X

@Whyisthistakingsolong so far so good, I am 17 + 4.

I think the causes of my MMC and CP were my under active thyroid not being treated correctly - it is now at a stable level and things seem to be going ok.

x
