Hi Everyone, this may be TMI so sorry in advance - I'm just after a second opinion:

I'm 34 and this is my first pregnancy and today and yesterday I've got a small amount of a spotting, only when I wipe, it's mostly dark brown so old blood, but yesterday I had a tiny spot of red blood, about the side of a lentil... I also had spotting about a ten days ago, again it was a very small amount, and I've also got dull cramps, but I've pretty much had them on and off for the last 5 weeks.

I feel a little more tired than usual and sore boobs but no sickness, mood swings or food aversions yet.

I'm trying so hard not to worry, I live in the UK so I don't see the midwife until about week eight and no scan until week twelve.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Thank you for reading xxx

I’ve had this with both pregnancies, and just assumed it was from implantation. I did also have it with a pregnancy that ended a few days later. I’d say it’s a totally normal early pregnancy sign, and doesn’t really give you any more information.

Other symptoms often appear later than 5 weeks (although personally I seem to get them very early). It’s certainly not a bad sign not to have any at this stage, or even to not get them at all - some women (lucky buggers!) never get any morning sickness or soreness, it’s really really variable how women experience early pregnancy. I’ve had no mood swings at all this time round, last time I was a sobbing wreck. My symptoms have been different for both pregnancies (except for the god-awful morning sickness) so there’s plenty of variation even for the same woman.

Hang in there, the first trimester is loooooooonnnnng and feels never ending. It’s so lovely when you see them on the scan, and even better once you can feel them moving, as it’s like constant reassurance.
