How to monitor movements?

I'm currently 28 weeks and feel baby move on a regular basis, but I can't say I've noticed a particular pattern with her movements. Is there a way I should be doing this?

Hi, there's an app called kicks count where you can press the button when you feel movements and then compare each day. I just try to remember to look at the clock when I feel movements and just keep a mental note throughout the day. Baby tends to be more active early morning, after eating and late night but that's just my pattern.

I asked my mid wife about this at my 28 week appointment and she said you just want to make sure your are having regular movements. So baby doesn't go hours and hours without moving, obviously sometimes when your busy you don't always notice so I try and sit down quietly a couple of times a day and have a feel for them! X

I made notes - written sometimes but mostly just keeping mental track of things. I'm not a fan of the app because I wanted to put in more details, like the type of movements I feel. My early 'patterns' were that she liked to have a wriggle around 10-11am, and also that she often wriggles after I have a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

I was told that the pattern for a baby can be anything from a time of day they like to move, to you doing a certain activity, or after you've eaten a certain kind of food. So it can really vary a lot by the sound of things!

I used the kicks count app for a couple of weeks so I could 'train' myself to be more aware of the movements but now it's just in my head.
I like to feel her every few hours and if I don't, I make a point of lying down and really concentrating on her for a bit.
I'm 36+4 now and still don't really have a pattern.
