Hi ladies just curious as to how much your babies were estimated to weigh at this scan and if you've already had your baby how much they actually weighed. Also what were your centile measurements please?

@KLM19 same. I want to sort of mentally prepare myself as I havent had a section before, but I had a pretty traumatic and insanely long birth on DC1 (52 hour labour, no pain relief, assisted delivery in a panic). I am not sure why they would give me a scan at 32 weeks if it could move and they just have to check again. Also, I am a little worried about what happens if its 'a bit low'. Do they just let me go for a vaginal? Can I request a section as I would rather not take a chance? No idea if anyone on here can answer those questions.

@SqidgeBum did they tell you how far away from the cervix it was? In scotland it has to be 3mm but heard England its 2mm but not 100% ie England... they offer u a 32 as 80% move out of the way by then.. only in another 8% ish they dont before 35/36 also here in scotland I was put on pelvic rest and bed rest at 32 because it had not moved..

Im 36+2 had my scan today and baby is weighing at 7lb 1oz!

SqidgeBum · 20/07/2020 19:41

nope. Nobody told me anything bar 'its low'. I was in and out of the scan with lightening speed. Covid 19 seems to have meant everything is bare minimum only. I wonder if it is in my notes.

KLM19 · 20/07/2020 20:22

@SqidgeBum dont worry I was not told prior to 32 weeks where its positioned ie how far from the cervix it was either they dont seem to fussed about it prior to 32 weeks.. but if u bleed at all go straight to hospital x

Thanks ladies, baby was estimated at 6lb 3 and is on the 59th percentile. I know it's only an estimate but does that all sound okay? My daughter was born at 11 days early and was 6lb 15 but this time I'm having a boy and the lady who did my scan said well he will be bigger.

Also how much weight do they put on now each week please?

Sounds great. My baby (born 6lb5 at 36+6) was 8lb exactly on what would have been her due date. So the 'half a pound a week for the last 10 weeks' was right for me. You can always plot the weight in your red book for an idea of the baby's due date size to get an idea of clothes size x
