Baby femur measuring small ...

When I was pregnant I was sent to the foetal medical unit as my babies femur was measuring small, and his growth had slowed down. I was really worried about a risk of Down's syndrome of dwarfism.

I read lots of threads on mumsnet from over the years from people in a similar situation, but rarely did the OP return to give the outcome.

So I thought I'd make this thread as I can't find my original- my baby had small femurs on scan, we had lots of worry, but all turned out fine. Baby just has little legs in proportion to his body.

Hope this helps someone!

It helps me!!! I've just posted about baby's femur measuring two weeks behind (currently 30 weeks).
It was a private scan and sonographer said we have a lovely healthy baby boy but my mind wanders!
He was really curled up when she measured him so I'm hoping the measurements were slightly off because of that.
As it's not horrendously short I feel much better knowing your DC was all good! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 thank you!!!

This happened to me at my 20 week scan. I was booked in for a scan a few weeks later and everything was back on track. When she was born she was petite but I am too (only 5ft 2)!
