Hello,
Ive recently found out im pregnant its of course still early days. But i am due to go back to uni in september back into my first year to complete a nursing degree. i had to take a year out this year due to illness. i want to complete my studies. This pregnancy was a complete accident, i have a two older children already. me and dh want to keep this child as we do have fertility problems so this was such a lovely surprise! if i hadnt taken a year out already it would have been an easy desion and i would have started september 2021. i have emailed university but i believe you cant intercalate for two years. Any advice? wondering what it would be like to be at uni pregnant or having to re apply, but that would effect finance. Or has anyone deffered uni for two years. Thank you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Sorry to hear you have been ill.
I’m a pregnant 1st year student, I’ll be finishing 1st year and doing 1 or 2 2nd year modules. To be honest I’m very glad to be taking this year off. Uni is going to be unrecognisable with online learning, and chance of placements being cancelled.
When I have this baby I am going to take 2 years off, then go back and finish 2nd & 3rd year xxx

I’ve been doing all online learning and just am not getting the uni experience I was getting when I was with my cohort in lectures. Learning from home with kids is not easy! xx

I think normally they only allow you to defer a year once - they did on my course anyway. However, there were a few in my cohort who left for maternity leave and came back a year later and just started again wherever they left off.
