Hematoma, spotting stopped, but yellow discharge

Is there anyone on here with a hematoma diagnosed early on? I had a large one (4.5-5cm) one with my last pregnancy already at 5.5 weeks and this did not end well. I don't know for sure though that it was hematoma that caused the miscarriage. I'm now pregnant again, around 7 weeks. Had a scan nearly a week ago and the baby measured about 2-3 days behind and had a heartbeat of 112. The doc was happy with it and said it is strong for this early stage. However I had had some brown spotting a few days before the scan and they saw a hematoma again. This time it's small, at least for now, about 5mm, the doc did not seem worried. But I am. After the scan I had one occasion of reddish blood after a (TMI, sorry!) bowel movement, then some brown stringy discharge. After a couple of days it all stopped, but now I'm having a tiny bit of yellow(ish) watery discharge if that makes sense. Only when wiping and not always, or I notice a small mark on white underwear. I hope it's the hematoma going away and these are the last signs. I don't have an infection. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hi @Wireless77, I had a Haematoma in my last pregnancy too. I had a big bleed around 6 weeks but my scans showed a strong heartbeat and baby was measuring accurately. Sadly, the haematoma was really big and push the sac down. I ended up miscarrying at 10 weeks.

I would advise bed rest and no heavy lifting. Could you get your EPU to monitor you and give you weekly scans? Mines did bloods for a week which kept rising but they also scanned me a couple of times to measure the bleed and see if it was going away.

I'm really sorry for your loss, @ChaiTea1. My baby was measuring quite a few days behind with a slow heartbeat at 7 weeks in my previous pregnancy, hence I don't know if it was the hematoma or baby was not well from the start. I'm having another scan next week and keeping my fingers and toes crossed the baby has grown nicely and the hematoma hasn't. Do you happen to remember the size of your hematoma? Did it keep growing from when it was first discovered?

I’m sorry for your loss too Flowers

I can’t remember the size of the bleed but it had stopped growing from what I remember. What was concerning for them was the placenta was growing and the bleed was pressing down on it even more. My bleed seemed too heavy for the placenta/sac to hold the bleed and it came away. I hope you get good news next week!
