Bowel movements towards end of pregnancy

Sorry guys if this is TMI 🙈 So the last few weeks I've definitely had an increase in bowel movements usually twice a day in the morning and evening - assumed this is because baby is head down and putting pressure on bowels.

Yesterday I had 3 bm and today I've had 3 by 1pm - I don't have an upset stomach or anything like that. My best friend told me the few days before she gave birth her bm increased like this so starting to think could it be a sign? Ill be 36 weeks tomorrow and have an appointment with midwife so will be sure to mention it.

Did anyone else have an increase in the days or weeks before labour? Ftm so really unsure what to look out for, haven't had any braxton hicks at all and hubby is now back to work and will be at least an hour away most days for the next 2 weeks so stressing.

I'm 36 weeks today and have had an increase in BM for the last 2 weeks or so.....often with loose stools and diarrhoea (sorry if TMI).
I've also had pressure down below, lower back ache and stomach cramps plus BH.
My midwife said it's completely normal at this stage and not indicative of anything happening imminently, it could be days or it could be weeks ....she just said to watch out for contractions that increase in frequency and intensity and/or waters breaking and to stay hydrated.

I'm getting more, but then I'm eating 5 dates a day as they're supposed to help with labour so might just be that 😂

Hi thanks for replying. Yeah mine has also been last 2 weeks or so did think it was normal it just freaked me out a bit when my best friend mentioned she had a "clear out" a few days before her waters broke! Also had my manager mention on a zoom call this week how his wife gave birth at 36 weeks so think im going into last minute stress mode. I ended up re packing my hospital bag last night and have ordered lots of extra stuff I probably don't need on Amazon prime 🙈

I guess it’s a mixture of increased hormones loosening everything up and pressure from baby.
