Whooping cough vaccine in pregnancy?

Hi all,

What are people’s opinions and experiences with the whooping cough vaccine?

I’ve had the vaccine today and am feeling quite crap and my arm is aching.

Is this normal, how did you feel after having the vaccine?

Many thanks,

Natalie.

I felt fine, just had a sore arm for a couple of days

Super sore arm both times, most recent time went to pregnancy yoga that eve and couldn’t do most the stuff!

I felt a bit rubbish for the rest of the day, it's normal and can last for up to 48 hours according to the nurse who did mine.

I've had mine. Arm was fine, no pain, no feeling ill. I think everyone is different though when it comes to vaccinations

I’m usually completely fine with vaccinations but the whooping cough one made me feel so run down for a few days. My arm ached, and I had a itchy red mark for around 2 weeks

My only reaction to it was my arm felt heavy and a bit numb for the rest of the day. Nurse warned me this is a common reaction.

I felt nothing at all, not even the slightest hint of a sore arm.....which was weird as I felt awful after the flu jab.

Everyone is different.

Thank you all for your sharing! I feel better It’s not just me that has felt crappy following the vaccine. I had the jab with my son but couldn’t remember having any side effects but I have read the brand of the vaccine has changed since I last had it.

I felt so rough after one first one but having another two pregnancy and therefore another two shots hasn't affected me as badly. I was dog rough the first time!!

Perfect post for me really! I also had my vaccination yesterday. Arm started off sore, got very sleepy into the afternoon. Struggled to get comfy in bed, but was knackered so did fall asleep. Woke in the middle of the night feeling nauseous, but did manage to fall asleep again.
Arm is very sore and red today. But feeling okay in general.
