Hi everyone,
I am 26 years old. So I had my 12 week scan and was told that my baby's Nuchal fold is 3.6mm. My bloods and all other measurements are good. I am waiting to hear from the specialist next week but wondering if anyone else has experienced this? They said it's only .1 'too high' so fingers are crossed but they also mentioned it could be an indicator of a heart issue? Thanks in advance

Hello I didn't want to read and run. I don't have experience of this specific issue but the too high measurement caught my eye because when I was pregnant last year I was told DS Had slightly too much fluid around his heart but it was by the same measurement. Only just outside normal perimeters
It turned out to be absolutely fine and I was told especially in the early stages very slight measurements can be absolutely normal and it can be down to the sensitivity of the equipment now

Obviously I can say for sure but if the rest of your test results are looking good I'd be reassured by that - how long til you see the specialist?

The other thing I would mention is if you have to have a heart scan on baby they aren't anything to worry about, it's amazing what they can see even when baby is tiny and heart is the size of a 20p
When we had.ours there were so many heart conditions that they could treat which I found reassuring
Hopefully you would even have to do that but I just wanted to reassure you if you do

Thank you so very much for that! I've really struggled to find any information about results like mine so I appreciate the message. My fingers are crossed that everything works out Smile

Hoping to see the specialist this week but if they're concerned about it being a heart issue she said they probably won't want to see me until 16-20 weeks when the baby is big enough that they can have a good look at the heart
