Alternatives to diazapam when pregnant?

My dh and I are ttc. I have one issue I am concerned about. I suffer hypermobility and because of that get quite bad spasms, particularly in my shoulders and neck. Currently we treat it with diazapam and deep heat but worried I can't use thr diazapam when pregnant.

Does anyone know what alternatives are available that could help. I know I should speak to the doctors but til I am actually pregnant I think they'd just fob me off

Have you spoken to you GP/Pain specialist prior to TTC for advice? have you tried a TENS machine? Osteopath?

Hi OP. Unfortunately a lot of the strong painkillers aren’t recommended in pregnancy, and all forms of benzodiazepines are big no no. If you are TTC then please tell your GP that this is the case as they will need to stop the diazepam. They most definitely won’t fob you off as benzodiazepines should be stopped when TTC and the GP may be able to suggest an alternative. They may be able to prescribe co-codamol or an anti-inflammatory, but again that would be a discussion to have with GP as they would need to assess the benefits over the risk :)
