30 weeks pregnant and movement all low down

Hi,

Any advice would be great.

I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and all of babies movements are low down, way below tummy.
See movement across my tummy now and again but what feels like kicks are all low down.

Would this signify the baby is breech?

My son aged 6 was breech and had to be born via cs.

Thank you for reading and your thoughts

I'm 35 weeks and baby is head down and back to back. All my movements for the last 8 weeks or so have been really low down in my pubic area / groin. I'm guessing it's her punching and pressing with her arms.

35 weeks tomorrow and movements have felt a bit lower like they did at the beginning but this has only been the last week or so. Baby was head down at 32 week appointment so hoping he still is. I do still see either his head or bum moving above my belly button (fingers crossed its his bum!)

@sel2223
Congratulations and thank you for reply.
Did you previously have kicks further up? My kicks or punches have always been low down. Apart from seeing movement across my stomach, all actual kicks/punches until now been low.

My baby is head down and I often feel movement very low down, which is his hands apparently, and a lump at the top which apparently is his bum! Also get kicks to the side of the lump, which is either his knees or his feet.

UrsulaSings · 09/07/2020 20:33

Also used to feel movement low down which used to be hit feet. I think it's quite difficult to tell which way up they are until the midwife has a feel around and confirms what bit is what. The difference with the feet/knees is that they are more powerful at the top compared to the hands lower down which arent as powerful.

@Fingerscrossed11 so always had movements low down but from 27 weeks higher movements as well, usually on the right side level with my belly button. I also have an anterior placenta which may make movements higher up more muffled. Do you ever get feelings of your baby pushing on your bladder/cervix? I get that quite a bit and assuming its as he is head down, when you have your 32 week appointment ask your midwife to check position for you.

At times I wish we could see where our babies were and what body part was making movements 🥰

If you've had a section before they should give you another scan at 35 weeks, if not I would request one. I don't really trust the midwives feeling the bump as both my babies were breech and both times I was told they were head down.

Oh and I felt all the movement low down too.

sel2223 · 09/07/2020 20:48

@Fingerscrossed11 I've only ever really felt movements under my belly button so they've always been low but not as low as the last 8 weeks or so. I've never felt anything high up.
I had a private scan 4 weeks ago and that confirmed what midwife had told me that baby is head down but back to back.

Thank you ladies for all your replies.
Had a midwife appointment today and the baby is transverse.
I have a scan next week at 32 weeks as they found my placenta was low lying at 20 weeks scan.
Also to get baby measurements as today’s measurements were 28 so lower than should be but I’ve read that’s normal when baby is transverse.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this?
Thank you

@Fingerscrossed11 not sure about the measurements but I know baby's position can have an effect so it does make sense.
My little one has been breech, then transverse around 30 weeks and is now head down at 36 weeks!
Have a look at a website called spinning babies.

@sel2223
That’s great your little one is head down now, not long to go for you now. I’m hoping for a VBAC but I guess I’ll need to wait and see how the placenta is lying first. Baby seems to be transverse most of the time I believe. My DS age 6 was breech and didn’t move from 16+ weeks until CS. It’s maybe a boy thing for me, maybe he has long legs like his big brother. Thank you for the reassurance that it is possible for him to move still. The measurement worried me today but I suppose if the baby is lying transverse the fundal height wouldn’t be as much if the baby was cephalic in head down and bottom up position. Just need a scanning machine for home Grin
