I’m in my second pregnancy and at 24 weeks

I had my Blood pressure taken once at the 12 week scan - I’m not due to see a midwife again now until 28 weeks.

Just wondered, is this normal for 2nd time pregnancies??

I’ve had my urine taken twice (12 & 20 weeks) and blood tests taken once (12 weeks)

It seems to be procedure now for "pee and pressure", I had my urine checked and blood pressure checked at 12wk and 20wk scan and also today at 28 wk check with midwife. Not had any blood checks since 12 weeks but I'm seeing consultant next week, Was told I should ask them about it x

At 20 weeks and 28, next being seen at 34 with 2nd pregnancy
I do have a bp machine at home and check it weekly on the midwifes advice because I had issues with high bp in my first pregnancy

I had mine taken at the 12 and 20 week scans.

My 20 week B.P. was 138/90 (I’d just been hyped up over measurements and finding out the sexes of my twins and then hurried into the next room) so they sent me for a follow up at 22 weeks with a community midwife 👍

I think you should have had another check by now, can you call your midwife or antenatal clinic and ask for it? X

So far at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks. I’ve had blood taken twice at 8 and 12 weeks, but urine only at 8 weeks.

I need to take a sample in for my 25 week appointment.

I think this is normal in the current climate with coronavirus. You would normally have had it checked at 16 weeks but not many areas are doing f2f appointments then. 25 weeks, I believe, has always been an extra appt for FTM's only then it's all pretty much as normal from 28 weeks onwards.

I'm currently 27 weeks and I've only had BP taken once and urine twice. I had nothing at the 12/20 week scan apart from the scan! I've got nothing until I'm nearly 30 weeks (which I think is meant to be the 28 week appointment) Feels like I haven't really seen a midwife!

bluemoon2468 · 07/07/2020 22:44

Only once at 8 weeks, and I'm now nearly 28 weeks. Because of covid my 16 and 24 week appts were cancelled, and my BP and urine weren't checked at either of my scans 😕

Oh I should add 👍

If you’re worried then B.P is quite easy to monitor at home (and my consultant said it would be good if I did!)

I bought an Omron digital blood pressure monitor for twenty something quid on Amazon and take a measurement mid morning and mid evening after I’ve been at rest for at least 15 mins 👌

I log my results in an app called BPDiary which tells you if you’re in the normal range or not xx

Once, at 12 week scan where they did the practical stuff for booking in (blood pressure, tribe, bloods). Only time I’ve seen a midwife. 16 week appointment was over the phone. Didn’t see anyone but the sonographer at 20 week scan. Next face to face is 28 weeks.

I wouldn’t say this was not all for second pregnancy, it’s more the impact of Covid.

Although I am left wondering why, if it’s not so important, I had to do the pee in a cup and blood pressure check approximately sixty billion times last pregnancy...

Urine.... not tribe. 🙄
