So I'm curious to know if you had 1st baby early, will 2nd baby be early too? I feel like the excitement is taking over and I can't wait any longer! I'm currently 36+6 I had ds at 37+5 weighing 5lbs2 (2.3kg) and really hoping baby 2 comes at 37 weeks! Would love to hear everyone's experience Smile

Following with interest. My baby came a week early and weighed 6lb 6oz.
Do you mind me asking if there were any issues related to your baby's weight? I thought mine was really small so not sure if I'd actually want my second to come before the due date.

Hatepickinganame · 07/07/2020 09:00

Not in my experience, my first arrived a week early. My 2nd was 10 days late, my 3rd 5 days late and induced due to size and fluid. So probably would have been later if left to go naturally!

difficulttod · 07/07/2020 09:07

My first was 11 days overdue
Second was 10 days
Third came the day after due date Smile

starsdelight · 07/07/2020 09:15

Following as I'm also interested in seeing others response. My first came at 38+3 I am now now 38+1 and desperately hoping this baby makes an appearance soon or give some signs of something happening 🤞🏻

Workaholic2mum · 07/07/2020 09:16

@FTMF30 I totally understand baby being small to be a worry, he was born naturally and they considered me to be full term with being over 37 weeks so there was no serious issues just a little jaundice but took to breastfeeding well and gained weight. We didn't have to stay in hospital. This time round I have had to have extra scans but baby is currently just over 5lbs and I consider myself to be petite so personally I wouldn't expect to have a baby say 8 or 9 pounds.

It's interesting to hear everyone's feedback, I was told by friends and family the chances of baby arriving early are higher if 1st baby is early but I've read a lot of forms/discussions and this isn't always the case - It's just pot luck I guess!

Following with interest! First baby at 37 weeks exactly and wondering what the chances are of the second also being early!

juglover2008 · 07/07/2020 09:20

Not me but my daughter was 4 weeks early with no 1 and on her due date for no 2.my friend also had her first 3 weeks early where her 2nd was 5 days late

Roselilly36 · 07/07/2020 09:20

DS1 1 day before due date
DS2 10 days before due date

arleybarley · 07/07/2020 09:20

My 1st was 7 days overdue
2nd was 14days overdue

My 3rd is due today🙂not holding out much hope for his appearance

Allthegoodnamesweretakenalread · 07/07/2020 09:33

My first baby was born early at 36 weeks, breach and a little under 6lbs. My second was 3 weeks late and was a little under 9lbs.

Funnily enough, the eldest is quite highly strung and the youngest is very chilled out.

Workaholic2mum · 07/07/2020 09:48

@arleybarley oh gosh hope you're not waiting too long. I just dread being overdue, I keep thinking the later baby comes the bigger he/she will be 🙈

My first was 2 weeks late (this was 20 years ago) and I'm 37+2 today and this time around I'm having a lot of 'signs' that I didn't have the first time around so have been wondering if this one shows up early. Booked for a csection in 2 weeks so he won't be overdue anyway

arleybarley · 07/07/2020 10:11

@workaholic2mum thank-you. Honestly thought I would have had him by now, past 2 weeks have had cramps, backache, the braxton hicks ramped up intensely one night then just disappeared after 2 Hours. He's just to comfortable.
I'm the same about size, had a scan at 36 weeks and they estimated him at 6lb5oz then. My 2nd was 9lb.

StarsOnAMat · 07/07/2020 10:18

First one on his due date, 7lbs 4oz.
Second 39 weeks, 8lb 9oz.

FTMF30 · 07/07/2020 10:22

Thanks for your response.

I think it could also be circumstantial when baby arrives. My friend's first came a day before due date but she was studying for a degree through most part of her pregnancy and worked PT in a very active job. With her second, he was late and she definitely had a more sedentary lifestyle that time round and was able to take it a lot easier in comparison to with her first. But that is completely anecdotal based on one person, so who knows!

Congrats on your baby Smile

Iwalkinmyclothing · 07/07/2020 10:24

I've never had one 'early'- but they have all been less 'late' each time (42+1, 41+3, 404+4). None of them have been big babies either. Most women on my mum's side of the family seem to go past the EDD and have babies weighing between 7 and 8 lb, I honestly think that's our normal.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 07/07/2020 10:25

Um, 40+4. Not 404. My third pregnancy did not last almost 8 years, although the last month sort of felt that long.

Workaholic2mum · 07/07/2020 10:55

@Iwalkinmyclothing hahahahaha that really tickled me, 8 year pregnancy

I’m following with interest too as my first arrived at 37+1. He was full term and healthy so I have no issues going slightly early again as long as I’m full term . I have a feeling I’ll go massively over my due date though . It actually works out better if I do go past my due date as my husband’s paternity leave will coincide with Christmas🎄!! I’m 21 weeks at the moment .

Jj2431 · 07/07/2020 15:31

Workaholic2mum · 07/07/2020 16:14

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so I'm really really hoping I have the baby in the 37 weeks period. Because the day I'm 38 weeks is also my 30th 🙈 I'm not up for sharing my birthday week let alone my birthday !! Ha
