Hi everyone,

I am a bit worried and need some advice pls. For the past 3 days I have had an achy body that comes and goes and horrible headache. Started with ear pain that left then this come on. Yesterday was horribly sore throat too symptoms seem to be changing each day but headache and body aches staying.

My body temp is 37.6 at the moment. Should I be concerned and call the doctor ? Is it normal to be slightly raised when pregnant ?

Worried could be the early stages of covid. Had an extremely stressful 3 weeks my partner was rushed to hospital lost hes ability to speak and mobility down the right side of hes body- immune system was probably low because of stress.

Unsure weather to call the doctor as I doubt they will have me in to check me and baby over because of covid? I have been taking paracetamol

Thanks

@HRH2020 @totalitytots @MichelleOR84
Thanks I have spoken to midwife she said not to be concerned yet unless it stays high for the next 2 days without any symptoms improving or gets worse then go to hospital Blush hope it goes away :(

I have ordered a test kit in the meantime as I cant drive and my partner can not use hes right side of the body to drive hes car anywhere at the moment so will have to do it the delivery way

Have you had the flu jab?

022828MAN · 05/07/2020 16:14

37.6 isn't raised. My baseline temp is 37.5.

The other symptoms I'd be more concerned about but could just be a cold / flu. Order a test online.

HRH2020 · 05/07/2020 17:28

Hope you feel better soon Thanks

kirinm · 05/07/2020 17:49

37.6 isn't a temperature

kirinm · 05/07/2020 17:50

Sorry that cut off too early. I think your temp is okay. You would probably be able to get a test and there would be no harm in doing so? Sounds like you've got a lot of stress to deal with at the moment.

turnthebiglightoff · 05/07/2020 18:08

A temperature is more like 38-39, OP. Even with horrific mastitis mine was only 38 - I'm usually 37.5

Lola871 · 05/07/2020 18:11

If you've been taking paracetamol then that will lower your temp slightly so it may actually be slightly higher in reality. The threshold from a covid perspective is anything above 37.7 so you're pretty close and worth ordering a test as you have done. But I think you're right and they won't do anything if you have mild symptoms, but no harm in calling if you become more concerned.
Also I think lots of people forget that normal bugs are still going around so you could have picked something up, stay well hydrated, keep an eye on your temp and get lots of rest. Hope you feel better soon!

Smartiex · 06/07/2020 08:49

Thank you everyone. Test is arriving today. My midwife told me anything over 37.4 is a temperature. My thermometer also automatically alarms when it goes over 37.4 to alert a temp. Hopefully just a bug Sad thanks all

Poor you OP. 37.5 would definitely be a temperature for me. It sounds like the virus

ferntwist · 06/07/2020 08:52

Make sure you don’t delay in getting help if you feel at all worse. That’s the advice from the Royal College of Obstetricians.

Smartiex · 06/07/2020 10:32

@ferntwist thanks yes I will do! Praying it doesnt get to that

I had flu when pregnant OP and for me it got very bad very quickly, I.e woke up feeling unwell and by that evening I was seriously ill in hospital. Hopefully that means it’s not flu for you.
Keep hydrated and an eye on your temp.
Hope you feel better soon.

Smartiex · 06/07/2020 11:41

@OlivejuiceU2 oh no sorry to hear that :(. Thank you hopefully not

Hope you’re feeling a bit better OP? Have you sent off for a test?
