Bleeding at 11+7 (tmi photo)

Hi,

I am nearly 12 weeks with my first scan coming up on Wednesday. I have been feeling terrified (with no cause) that when I go to the scan they will find a missed miscarriage.

This morning I have had some bleeding on wiping (really blurred photo but it was twice on wiping bright light pink blood). It was only a spotting amount but I don’t know what to do. My pack says I should call the gp but I don’t think there will be anyone on a Sunday.

Does even this small amount of bleeding need attention straight away, really unsure if it is normal or if I need to get it check today.

Thanks in advance for any advice /experience

I'm no expert but if it was only a couple of times and a tiny amount like that I would try not to worry. If it continues keep an eye on it.

Contact your GP tomorrow to see what they say anyway, but yes unlikely to be anyone in today.

I had bright red spotting at a similar time but only a tiny bit when wiping and all was fine for me. When I spoke to my GP they said the main concern was if it carries on, or if it gets heavier!

But as I said I'm no doctor or expert it's just my experience! Hope all is ok.

Why don't you call 111 and ask to speak to a medical professional? It might put your mind at ease, Wednesday is very far away if you're worrying!

I'd try not to panic to much. At 11 weeks pregnant I had a bright red bleed a lot more than in your picture and huge clots. My back hurt and I got period pains exactly the same as my miscarriages Iv had. I thought it was definitely over for me I cried all day and night until my scan and baby was bouncing away.
My sticky bean stuck and I'm now 36 weeks. 🤞🏻

Hopefully nothing to worry about x

Thank you all for your comments, it is good to hear your experiences. I couldn’t wait till Wednesday as would be too worried, I will try 111 now and then the gp tomorrow if it continues.

I managed to speak to an our of hours service, they reassured me that it was most likely (not guaranteed) ok and as long as I don’t get cramps or heavier bleeding that I don’t need to be seen today. I do need to ask for an urgent scan via the gp tomorrow though ahead of my dating scan.

Thanks again for your reassurances and advice.

Hi @IDK2020 I’ve had a tiny bit of bleeding like this at 7, 21 and 22 weeks pregnant. The first time it was checked out the next day and the second two times immediately. It is coming from a polyp. I’m now 25+4 and haven’t had it bleed for 3 weeks now but if it does happen again I’ve been told to go in straight away as should be done with any bleeding. That light it should be fine. When I miscarried in a previous pregnancy in the early stages it was bright red and heavy.

I had bleeding like that with all my pregnancies and now have 3 children.

Hope your GP is helpful but just be prepared that the EPU May say they won’t see you before your 12 week scan as it’s not heavy or painful.

Thank you for your comments @Prettylittlelady I know it varies for everyone but hearing your experience was really helpful and reassuring. The last time I was examined (pre pregnancy) they noted I have some sensitive cells outside the cervix so it could be linked to that.

@HeeeeyDuggee thank you, you were right that my gp did not see a need for further investigation. Thankfully there was no futher bleeding apart from some tiny spotting and a little darker discharge the day after which I put down to old blood.

Was so nervous going to the scan yesterday but the baby was happily wriggling around :) only surprise was I measured as 11 weeks instead of the 12+3 I was sure I was. Have to go back in two weeks for another scan as was too small to do the screening, but am viewing that as a bonus to have an extra scan rather than worrying. Keeping fingers crossed that by then there’s a slim Chance my husband might be allowed to come too...
