When to take a pregnancy test?

Started my period on the 5th of June last month. Had unprotected sex on the 20th of June and 24th June, I took the morning after pill (Levonelle) twice, after 66 hours and after 44 hours. Ovulation calculators say that I was likely to ovulate on the 20th of June. I've been feeling more tired than usual with sore breasts and a lot hungrier than normal.

The thing is my period can be irregular - sometimes it's at the beginning of the month other times it's in the middle of the month? Only last year it was at the end of the month. So I don't know when it would be "too late" for my period to arrive. What do you think?

If you can, I would try and wait til the day after your next period is due. If you are pregnant, it might not show until then anyway, and you'll just drive yourself mad with a negative result!

Its been 28 days so depending on cycle length for this cycle you possibly would get a positive test from a first response test. Waiting a few days if you can would improve your chances of getting a clear positive test. If you get a negative test I would wait 4-7 days and then take a second test.

For future reference, if there is a chance you have already ovulated the emergency contraceptive pill isn't necessarily the best option. It works by delaying ovulation until after the sperm has died, it can't do this if you have already ovulated. The coil is more appropriate in these situations as it works in a different way.

If last unprotected sex was 24th June u would be better leaving it til next Wednesday that's 2 full weeks after and should give u a definite answer. The Map can also mess up ur hormones after taking it I could have swore every month for 3 months I was pregnant but wasnt

I would wait until at least 14 dpo so, if you're pretty sure you ovulated on the 20th June, the earliest I would test is tomorrow.
If you're not sure about the ovulation date, then i'd wait 2 weeks after you last had sex.

If you test too early you run the risk of getting a false negative or an 'is it or isn't it?' faint line and having to retest in a few days time anyway.
