Third pregnancy, never had a spontaneous labour, and im worried that im faulty. Ill be really sad if i have to be induced again and feel like a failure. Dc1 went full 2 weeks over had to be induced. Dc2 lost plug at 35weeks had contractions for days then breached themselves and still came 4 days late (induction) i just wonder whats wrong with me. Sad

Nothing’s wrong with you! I had 3 inductions, all at 42 ish weeks. It’s just the way that it is.

Thankyou @PotteringAlong, i dont know anyone irl whos had as many as me, i so desperately want to go into spontaneous labour.

Nooo. No random dashes to hospital, no worrying about twangs (when I was pregnant with number 3 I mentally tagged 2 weeks into my due date and waited!). Induction is where it’s at Smile

My third was by far and away the fastest. From the moment they inserted the first pessary to him being born was less than 8 hours.

Never had Spontaneous labour here. All 3 babies inductions. I like induction tho made me feel safe and prepared. Terrified of the idea of spontaneous labour scared me

applefig · 02/07/2020 12:21

I've had 2 inductions and not having a 3rd this time as I have no reason to so far but I'd rather have one tbh then I know exactly when the kids need to be looked after, I don't really want to labour at home for a couple hours or days with the kids running riot and the MIL here lol

well im feeling a bit less alone in the world, ive always felt so strange about it.

I remember feeling like I would never go into labour. But babies do come out. I had to wait until 42 weeks and 3 days for it to happen but it did.

Lostmyunicorn · 02/07/2020 12:40

I had induction with no 1 followed by failure to dilate and eventual CS. I had only dilated 3cm and was advised it was highly unlikely to have VBAC or spontaneous labour 2nd time. Roll on to no 2 and I spontaneously went into labour bang on time and delivered vaginally with no issues. It’s just the luck of the draw....! hope it goes well but as you already know, it’s not how they arrive that matters as long as you’re both ok and healthy.

PasstheBucket89 · 02/07/2020 12:58

A lot of babies reduce movement if they go overdue my eldest was, did you refuse an induction then @ChanklyBore?? Oh thats good lost my unicorn ive been googling information on being unable to go into labour and its basically non existant Confused

One induction and one C section here and I've always felt a bit like I "missed out," not having the hospital dash. But at the end of the day, they are here and wonderful and they got here safely. Even if your body can't do spontaneous labour... It doesn't matter. There are ways around it and there are many other worse ways in which your body might not 'work'. It doesn't make you a failure. Good luck!

Spam88 · 02/07/2020 14:05

The hospital dash is definitely not something to feel like you've missed out on - I'm only 5-10 minutes from the hospital but my god, that was the longest car journey of my life.

I would have thought two inductions is particularly unusual. As far as I'm aware, being induced doesn't mean you're more likely to need an induction in a future pregnancy.

Etinox · 02/07/2020 16:26

I never went into spontaneous labour. I strolled in three times, buying a coffee and paper en route.
Never occurred to me that I was missing out.

I never had a mad dash to hospital either because I stayed at home for all three.

I didn’t refuse induction, no, baby came first.

PasstheBucket89 · 02/07/2020 19:17

Feeling a little better now i do still desperately want to experience the hospital dash, but i may have to accept it might not happen.
