Sex of baby comments !

I don’t know if it’s just me but is anyone else getting annoyed with the comments of oh ur having a boy?? I’m currently sitting at my mils and I’m getting annoyed with the comments of how I’m being told the baby im carrying is a boy? Just because she had a dream before I found out I was pregnant that I had a boy!! It’s actually really getting on my nerves that why do people assume it’s going to be a boy

I have no idea why people do this because nobody except a sonographer could actually know. If they get it right, it's because it's a 50/50 chance not because they are Mystic Meg. It's just one of those irritating things about pregnancy.

Yes! I get you! It annoyed me so much! Before all the comments I wasant bothered by the gender but more and more comments saying it's a boy made me want a girl. We found out a few weeks ago it's a boy. Partner even said sorry as he knew how much all the comments upset me and how much I wanted a girl because of it. Yes it would have been nice to have a girl and prove them all wrong but I'm excited for our little boy now and picking out little boy outfits.

Omg my father in law is convinced it's a girl due to a dream and if anyone says otherwise he says he just knows.
We have kept the sex a surprise (currently 34 weeks), part of me thinks it will be nice if its a boy 😂. We will obviously be really happy either way, but he will go on about it for years that he was right!

Both husband & I 'had a feeling' before our scan that it was a girl, but I was very much laughing at myself with that 'feeling', because as @OlivetheTree says, how could we actually know, and it's a 50/50 chance! Purely a lucky guess.

The other comments that I find strange/slightly irritating are when we've seen friends for a socially distanced walk recently, or spoken to people by video, and they say things like 'oh you're carrying very forward/low aren't you? If that's what you're like with a girl it's lucky it's not a boy!'

It’s not something that bothers me in the slightest. We and they will find out once s/he arrives.

Mind you, there are plenty of things that really do wind me up that probably wouldn’t stress you Hormones make it worse, as does what you think of the person who holds the opinion, haha!

There is a slightly higher birth rate, so statistically the baby is more likely to be a boy.
It is something like 105 boys for every 100 girls.

Two of the same is nice, so's one of each.

You'r MIL won't get any say once the baby is born.

Mil said I was definitely having a girl because all her other grandchildren we're girls.

I was over the moon when we had a boy.

I find this so annoying!! I don't know why really but it just pisses me off. (especially when it comes from the MIL who of course is never wrong 🙄) Another pregnancy comment that does my head in is when you announce a pregnancy, the people who say 'I just knew you were pregnant before you even said' 🤦🙄

If you don't announce the pregnancy until after the 12 weeks, then it is quite likely that someone will have already guessed.

If you already have one or more girls, people assume that 'this one will be a boy' and vice versa.

More than one tosser will ask if you were disappointed that it wasn't a boy/girl, if you already have a girl/boy.

Omg I hate this! We found out the sex and decided not to tell anyone so have just told our parents it’s a surprise. They keep trying to guess based on my bump shape and how I look which is soo annoying and they’re trying to get us to slip up and say he or she when we talk about baby. Have to be so careful what I show, say or share which is annoying!

We know we are having a boy, we have had multiple scans showing his penis and also had fetal DNA testing which showed Y chromosomes. We have told everyone that it’s a boy. People (DM and MIL ) STILL keep telling me repeatedly “it’s definitely a boy, you can tell by how you’re carrying!” Some people just wont give it up!

I hated this too! With DS1 I knew what I was having and announced the pregnancy with the sex of the baby. With DS2 I didn’t want to know what I was having. This was like an invitation for everyone to bring out the old wives tales. I had family members swinging wedding rings round my bell, my bump was assessed for roundness and neatness, my eating habits were analysed. I bloody hated it! My son is 8 months old and I still get comments about how people are shocked he’s a boy (I thought they’d have got their head around it by now).
I don’t know why it annoys me as it shows they’re interested but i think next time I’ll do what I did with DS1 and tell everyone once we know the sex.

Didn’t really annoy me but 95% of people said I was carrying a boy because of how my bump looked. She was a girl.

Yup I had this from EVERYONE! I had a small bump and the comments were mainly ‘You’re all out in front, it’s a boy’, ‘You’re carrying so low, it’s definitely a boy’, ‘Bad morning sickness, definitely a boy’, ‘Your bump looks like a football, it is definitely a boy’, ‘You’ve not gained any weight, apart from your bump, it’s definitely going to be a boy’ and my favorite said my my best mate about my 20wk scan picture ‘I can tell it’s a boy as the forehead is square’ err OK then!
So after all that the baby is a girl 🤣 People just enjoy guessing but it get’s annoying, just like when EVERYONE tells you that ginger is so good for morning sickness 🙄
I really had to bite my tongue and not punch people with all the silly comments they made 🤔

When I was pregnant, someone I'd never met before (I work on a university campus) came running up to me, pointed at my bump, and shouted, 'That's a boy! It's a boy!'.

She's a girl.

I want to find that person and gloat! Not because girls are better, but just because she was so convinced she was right about a total stranger's baby bump!

Protection from all this nonsense is a major advantage of finding out the sex.
