Just that! I'm 5'2 and thin build. Just wondering if anyone of the same height and build can recommend a pushchair that will be easy for me to manoeuvre and take down/ carry myself

I've been looking at the egg travel system but it's so pricey!!

I found the egg quite heavy to push and much preferred the oyster 3 it's so much lighter to lift and easy to manoeuvre! I've not bought yet just tested a lot so far haha

pinkcattydude · 29/06/2020 17:52

I’m 5 foot and I loved my baby jogger so easy to use and bung in the boot.

DressingGown87 · 29/06/2020 17:57

I am 5ft 2 too, I found the M&P Ocarro and Uppababy had a reasonable handle height, which can also be adjusted for tall people. They where both quite heavy though, but I wanted all terrain so it didn’t phase me, as it was manageable.

Iknitknickknacks · 29/06/2020 18:00

One of my daughters has an Egg, the other an Oyster - the Oyster is far lighter, easier to push and easy to assemble one handed. The carry cot comes off the frame simply by lifting a small lever at the back of the hood. Saying that the pushchair is suitable from birth. The pushchair can fold on the frame. You have to remove the pushchair from the frame in order to fold the Egg.

Hey everyone just at update. Went to a pram shop today and tried both oyster 3 and the egg. The oyster 3 was a clear winner!! So much more lighter and manoeuvre's way more easier. I actually found the oyster 3 much more easier to fold down and put back up. I can't believe how much more cheaper it is than the egg! The sales person told me the egg actually hasn't been updated for 5 years whereas the oyster 3 is new so has way more features and better spec than the egg.

Hope that helps anyone else stuck between the two x

Glad you liked it :D I think I'm going to go with the oyster 3 too. Which colour did you go for?
CottonSock · 04/07/2020 22:57

I had the oyster and I'm shorter than you, also good for dh who is very tall. Great pram

SassyPants87 · 05/07/2020 00:01

@Pink15 I might get the all black noir one, although I do like pebble too. Which colour are you going to go for? Smile

@SassyPants87 I like the black or grey can't remember the names haha

EllieGolightly · 05/07/2020 11:52

I'm 5'1 and had tried the icandy orange and peach, the egg, uppababy vista but when I tried the oyster 3 I made my mind up on the spot! DH was pleased too as it was the cheapest one, he had no concerns about size weight as he's 6 foot!

I've ordered the pepper that comes on the gunmetal frame, so excited!!

raindrop83 · 05/07/2020 12:05

Does anyone know how the Oyster 3 compares to the Bugaboo Fox 2??

stargazer87 · 11/07/2020 17:08

Another fan of the Oyster 3, went to look at the Bugaboo Fox2, Silver Cross Pioneer, Egg and iCandy peach today and the Oyster 3 was a clear winner! I was really surprised, especially as it's one of the cheaper ones!

It's surprisingly good right! Placed my order for it today. Hubby is happy we're not spending a fortune on the pram haha!

I came to say oyster, they're tiny! I have huge babies so didn't last mine long at all though.

stargazer87 · 11/07/2020 18:11

@SassyPants87 I know, I'm still in shock at how good it is for the price! I love how light and compact it is, I'm only 5ft1 so it's perfect for me, some of the others felt so bulky! What colour have you gone for? Have you gone for the car seat too?

clemmie83 · 11/07/2020 23:03

The oyster 3 definitely gets my vote, great for petite people, lovely compact system!

LittleMiss7 · 12/07/2020 07:46

We had this issue last weekend when we went test driving prams. We're having twins and it hadn't even crossed my mind! The pram I thought I wanted (icandy orange twin), I ended up waking around the shop on tip toes in order to be able to see 😂 we've now gone with the smaller icandy peach blossom twin as although the twins will look a bit squished, it's the only one I felt confident in pushing! Short girl probs, eh?! 😂 xx

Soubriquet · 12/07/2020 07:51

Out n about

I’m 5ft 2 and I was able to push this one handed. I could even push it nicely with my dd sat on the hood and ds in the buggy itself. Honestly it was the best pushchair I’ve ever had

Soubriquet · 12/07/2020 07:56

This is dd sleeping on the top of the buggy....

I know such a good price. Perfect for me I'm 5'2 and hubby is 6'2 but he also found it comfortable to use. Went for the noir which is the black caviar fabric on the black frame. Yes I went for the car seat too as it was part of the bundle deal. I know that the previous car seat didn't meet certain requirements but the new one does now which is good

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 12/07/2020 16:54

You should be able to put other car seats on there if you wanted to - Maxi cosi/Cybex/Joie/Nuna/Recaro/Besafe all use the same adapters.

There might be Britax adapters for it too - they're different ones though.

clemmie83 · 12/07/2020 17:25

I've been looking at car seats for the Oyster 3 and it's so confusing! Not sure whether to just go with the one in the bundle for the first 12 months and then change when we need to. Does anyone know if the isofix base that comes with the package will work with other car seats?

BertieBotts · 12/07/2020 17:56

No it won't. Isofix bases are usually specific to one car seat. Sometimes a couple of different ones will fit on but only ever from the same brand.
