Second pregnancy - showing at 6 weeks?

I just found out that I am pregnant. This
Is fantastic surprise news for us (I’m in my late thirties and we didn’t really plan it so it feels like a blessing tbh) but at six weeks I feel like I’m already developing a bump! Is this possible? I didn’t show until about five months last time.

Is it possible to be starting to show?? Because I am starting to wonder if there’s more than one in there. I desperately want to keep it private until my first scan but I’m worried it’s going to be impossible!

Thanks in advance

When I fell pregnant with my third I was in maternity trousers by 6 weeks. The muscles in your stomach aren't as strong as they were when you were pregnant with your first, so you can show earlier.

It's probably just bloating (sorry!). At that stage of the pregnancy the uterus is still below the level of the pelvis so there isn't anything to "show". With my second pregnancy I had a big bloated tummy for the first 10 weeks or so - my friend was 6-7 months pregnant at the time and we joked that my bump was bigger than hers Grin
It went away and then I started showing an actual bump probably around 16 weeks or so - still much earlier than the first time mind.

It’s not solid like a proper bump, but my concern is that even bloating due to being pregnant is making me ‘look pregnant’ (or certainly not like my normal shape and size). It’s reassuring to hear the bloating will probably calm down before I go back to work from lockdown!

I agree that it's probably bloating. Currently pregnant for the 2nd time and I felt really big and bloated around the 6-8w mark. It then went away for a bit, and then the actual bump came later. Congratulations xx

Ive had a bump since about 8 weeks. Bloating or not, its a noticeable bump and ive been in mat trousers since 10 weeks, and maternity shirts for 2 weeks now. I'm nearly 17 weeks and my bump has only gotten bigger, it never went away at all. It is my 4th and i do have very large babies though!

Congratulations!

A mix of bloating and weakened tiny muscles at the moment, I’m afraid. From memory, I think at 6 weeks your baby is about as big as a blueberry and uterus is still very low, so it’s hormones rather than the baby at the moment.

You’ll probably get your baby bump earlier than #1 though, and also feel its movements sooner, too. Lovely!

Hey OP!

I had this I even made a thread about it! It was a definite bump & this was my second pregnancy. I'm a size 10 & it was so noticeable. Turned out I was having twins haha! Good luck with your pregnancy xxx

Ha ha welcome to the second pregnancy club, it's probably a lot of bloating still but you'll defo get a bump a lot quicker and it'll grow a lot quicker this time, I'm glad I was in lock down during this pregnancy because by 10 weeks if I'd been in work people would well have guess I was pregnant even before my scan, I'm now 19 weeks and about the same size as I was around 25 weeks with my first , thinknits just because our muscles have already been stretched Smile
