Horrendous back pain at 15 weeks

Hi, just wondering if anybody has had awful back pain this early on. I really can’t remember having this when I was pregnant with my daughter until I was heavily pregnant. My labour with my daughter was all in my back so I’m wondering if my back is just weak from that! I’m really struggling to sit or lie down comfortably. Any advice would be great :-)

Hi there, not so much back pain but spd pain which was appalling. I think you can get support belts that might help.

Hi, sorry, I don't have any advice. I'm also 15 weeks and suffering the same thing. It's just always there and wakes me up at night! I'd be interested to see what others have to say.

I’m currently 24 weeks and have intermittent back pack but it was actually worse earlier on, I had it from about 6 weeks. Now it’s only if I over do it/ bend down to clean etc

I had horrendous back pain in my first pregnancy. During my second pregnancy I saw someone who specialised in deep tissue massage during pregnancy and it really helped.

I have it too. I had SPD towards the end of my first pregnancy, but this time it started much earlier. I reckon it is SPD related. What helped last time was to see an osteopath, and I’ve just booked an appointment to see one this time too (I’m 18 weeks).

Guys, go to an osteopath and get help. Mine is a genius.

Rainbowm · 28/06/2020 20:10

Thank you for all your suggestions.

@Yorkshirelass251 it’s good to know sometimes your not alone with these symptoms, as were at the same stage in pregnancy it sounds like it might be a common problem which makes me feel abit better!

Do you ladies know if you can get a referral from the GP for a osteopath or would I need to go private?

I have no idea, sorry. I’ve always assumed you have to see an osteopath privately and I am luck to have private healthcare through work.

If you can afford a few sessions, it’s the best money you’ll spend during your pregnancy. I couldn’t walk more than 5 mins before seeing an osteopath and after three sessions I was absolutely fine!

Can’t get osteopath on nhs only physio
Mines £40

LoveSunshine01 · 28/06/2020 22:40

Hmm, I get mine privately, it's the only healthcare I pay for.
