Hi I’m new here and this is my first thread,
I am currently late for my period. I’ve taken numerous tests, getting a positive and then negatives. I have rang my doctors and he has told me that it’s rare to get a false positive, I should test again in 2 weeks time it’s been a week I’ve tested again today and got another negative test. My mind is all over the place has anything like this happened to any of you? What was the outcome?

You need to test with your first wee of the day ideally with a pink dye test (the cheap ones are.nornally best)

If the tests were positive and now negative its likely a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage but you need to just wait and see I'm afraid.

I'd test every morning until I was certain if positive,had started bleeding or had blood test at drs.

I hope this doesn't raise your hopes too much but one thing I thought is that your pregnancy hormones could now be so high that the test is giving you a negative? This is a thing. I tested when I was around 7 weeks pregnant (I think?) and it was a negative because of this. On the flip side you could have had a chemical pregnancy and your period could be about to arrive in the next day or two (I have also experienced this). The only thing you can do is just wait another week or two. I appreciate this must be driving you crazy though to have had a positive and now this!! I would be the same.

I’m now currently 36 days late, I worked this to be about 8 weeks if I am. My last period was the 27th April My doctor told me this would make me 4 weeks if I am witch confused me. The first one I took I got a positive took one the same day got negative took one 2 days later and got faint positive and been getting negatives since but still no period. Would I be able to ask my doctor for a ultrasound to mind my mind at rest? Or better to wait? Xx

Make sure you use First Response Early Result test, they are generally known to be the most reliable.

@Whendoesthisgeteasier yeah once your placenta takes over your HCG levels drop! I had to talk myself out of taking another test when I was approx 11 weeks because I knew it would be negative

Addler · 27/06/2020 10:50

@Miss121xx you should ask for a blood test to check your HCG levels and then another one a couple of days later to see if they've increased. They probably won't give you a scan as you haven't had any symptoms of a miscarriage and even with some they likely wouldn't because of covid. You could pay for a private scan to put your mind at ease though, window to the womb have a lot of centres if you google to see what's near you?

Miss121xx · 27/06/2020 11:25

@LizzyAnna99. I thought this might be the case as I worked it out to 8 weeks if I am but my doctor told me 4 weeks,

I will have to wait and test again then get in touch with my doctor again

@Addler

 I think that's what I will do but my doctor has told me to test again in 2 weeks got one week left then I can phone back. I was thinking of going private if I can't get an answer soon xx

In that case being that late I'd book a private scan asap.
