Work not sending me confirmation of maternity after 3 months please help!

Hello I wonder if anyone can help.

I handed my MATB1 form in on 1st April via email as I was furloughed, my work acknowledged it via email but I never got anything in writing to confirm my start date or maternity pay.

After 28 days I chased this up, and was told I’d hear back by the start of May.

Still nothing start of May, so again I chase it up and am told they haven’t had my MATB1 and I’ll get confirmation when I send it over. I replied saying I had sent it over a month ago now and still am waiting. My work backtracked and said they hadn’t read the email properly but that it would be no later than the start of June.

June comes, still no confirmation. At this point I email to chase up the confirmation and also email them to advise I want to change the date of my maternity starting due to SPD.

My work replied to say they’ve noted the change of date, but I still haven’t had any confirmation in writing to confirm my leave date or maternity pay which I understood I should get, I chased it up on Tuesday as I know what they’re like, and I’ve not even had a reply this time. I am working from home so not able to go in and see anyone in HR.

I’m just getting worried now as I leave a week today. What happens if they don’t confirm my dates? Or my pay?

I’m really stressing as my fiancé is unable to work due to covid (he’s a tattoo artist) so we’re already struggling for money and it would be really helpful to know what my pay is going to be on maternity.

What should I do? I feel like I’ve chased it up time and time again and keep getting fobbed off 😬

I didn't get any kind of confirmation of a date or pay, I was already aware I get SMP... I emailed my MATB1 form and told them the date I want to start my mat leave and that was it. I did email to confirm if there was anything else I needed to do but they said no. Started my leave yesterday.

What does your contract say about your enhanced mat pay entitlement?
Very odd of them not to confirm your start and end date. I thought that was standard practice

@erised24 oh really? I thought it was standard for them to confirm your start and leave date and also your pay, well according to my midwife anyway! It’s all so confusing 😩

@iano I don’t actually know, I’ve worked there 5 years and my contract used to be on a system which they got rid of so I no longer have access to that and my paper copy is probably long gone!

I could request it but I can probably guarantee they won’t send me that over either, it’s like talking to a brick wall trying to get anything from them at the best of times.

They are meant to respond in writing within 28 days OP. If they don't I think you can change the date when you are coming back without giving them notice.

I'm having the same trouble with work , I have been furloughed since March with zero communication. I have sent letters again and made sure I sent them recorded delivery
