Pregnancy of unknown location

I've just been for a reassurance scan as my last pregnancy was ectopic. My LMP was May 18th which would make me just over 5 weeks pregnant.
The sonographer said she was unable to see any pregnancy. She said my remaining tube looked normal which is reassuring it's not another ectopic, but she wasn't able to see anything else.

Has this happened anyone?
Any positive stories ?

She said I may just need to be scanned later, even next week and it might be clearer to see

My EPU wouldnt scan until 6 weeks. It's possible baby is just too small right now. Have you been invited back?
My first baby post ectopic and tube removal is at school today. The second is playing with the cat right now. Fingers crossed you have a sticky bean in the right place spotted soon.

Thank you for your reply @RedCatBlueCat
My hcg level is 4000 so they're keeping an eye on me because they are unsure where the pregnancy is and the level is very high.
I don't have a good feeling about this - but I'll have to wait and see what the doctors say x

Yep this happened to me. I had an early scan at about 5 weeks, she epu said although test was positive they couldn't see anything. My daughter is now 11!

It might be too early to see anything z

BMWL · 25/06/2020 18:22

Thank you for the reassurance @Liloandstitch

@xmummy2princesx I'm hoping that's the case. I don't think I can go through another loss x

Hi @BMWL I had exactly this quite recently, went in with bleeding and pain at what I thought was 51/2 weeks, they couldnt see anything so said pregnancy if unknown location, did bloods and they went up by 75% in 2 days so rescanned 2 weeks later and baby was seen in right place. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant and have had another scan since and all seems good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

@NannyGR thank you for your response. That's really reassuring! I hope I'm in the similar position. Will have to keep everything crossed and hope for the best xx

I wouldn’t worry at this stage, your simply too early too tell right now. Most EPAU’s won’t scan until 6 weeks for this reason.

I had this too. They monitored hgc levels. Over a week it went up and early scan saw baby heart beat.

BMWL · 28/06/2020 08:43

Hello, went for an early reassurance scan on Thursday, and had hcg levels monitored which were going up, but sadly it was another ectopic and had to have surgery. Not sure what this will mean for the future but could have been a lot worse.. thankfully it hadn't ruptured.
I want to say thank you for everyone who replied on the thread with the positive stories. Hopefully that will be me some day

What's meant to be won't pass you by 💞 xx

I'm sorry to hear your news Flowers. Take care of yourself.

Have you found the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, and their chat boards?

BMWL · 28/06/2020 10:20

@RedCatBlueCat thank you.
I have found them very very helpful and supportive. It is a great forum xx
