Anyone here around 20 weeks and want to stay in contact

Hi there, this is a bit of a random post, not sure if anyone will even reply. I am 20 weeks pregnant and this is my first baby. I don't have any pregnant friends and so it sometimes feels a little lonely especially with not being about to socialise as much due to COVID. If anyone is in a similar boat and would like to stay in contact (via WhatsApp maybe) let me know.

Can I jump in too ladies 👋🏼 I’m also a 21 weeks with our first baby.

Had our 20 week scan last week but have a rescan this week due to baby refusing to get into the positions it needed to be in. Providing everything is fine with the rescan I’m going to book a private scan for a couple of weeks time so that my partner can see baby too.

@Emmagen Also feeling a bit funny about the maternity care. I’m 21 weeks and have yet to meet a midwife. Spoke to one on the phone for 15 mins for booking appointment at 9 weeks and one on the phone for literally 2/3 minutes at 16 weeks. Neither of them were my allocated midwife but I think that’s quite normal. And they’re impossible to contact at any other time 🤷🏻‍♀️ Was told at 16 weeks on the phone that my first proper appointment would be at 22 weeks and should be face to face although they were still unsure about that. Haven’t heard anything about it being cancelled so hopefully it will go ahead next week as planned!

Hi ladies can I jump in to I'm 19 weeks. With 3rd baby this one has definitely been my hardest pregnancy with sickness and generally feeling rubbish. Like you've all said it's definitely harder without being able to go out and see people. Just need a hug from my mum I recon 😊 been feeling some lovely little kicks for about the last week which has been so nice and reassuring. I'm high risk throughout pregnancy due to having ridiculously high blood pressure when I'm pregnant so I've been quite lucky and have had quite alot of midwife appts already to keep an eye on it along with a consultant appt. Hope you all have a fab relaxing day xx

Morning all!

Pregnancy hasn't been that great for me, going from one issue to the next and not having the best time but just focusing on getting my LO at the end of it all.
I have the same issue with scans - was told my husband could come to fridays scan originally but had a message this week to attend alone. We have been lucky enough to do private scans as well so he is still getting to see baby 😊

Pumpkin108 · 24/06/2020 09:47

Hi everyone, can i join too? I’m 19+5 with first baby ( a girl) due 13th November. Also feeling quite isolated as don’t have any family myself and don’t know anyone else who is pregnant

Rara88Cas · 24/06/2020 13:24

Hey! I'm down for this! I'm 18+2 and whilst my friends have had children their first pregnancies were almost 20 years ago so I don't know many FTM to discuss things with.

Partner tries to be supportive and is a good sounding board but with this also being his first he struggles with advice!

I'm over the moon I'm pregnant, but really scared and feeling unprepared as it's more difficult when you cant have wander around the shops for baby things!

Also feeling a bit abandoned as my assigned midwife is rubbish at responding to me!

Pushingnic · 24/06/2020 13:29

Hi just want to join this thread too! I’m the same as @Pumpkin108 19+5 today due on 13th November! My 20 week scan is ok Monday so excited about that and to see if not or girl but also really nervous for it in case something is wrong especially with husband not being allowed in!

Persiaclementine · 25/06/2020 09:33

Scan went ok. Got to go back to get measurements of heart cerebellum and lips as baby was too low and had hand over her face, but everything else looked fine, I was originally panicking as when I had a 16 week scan her femurs were in the 25th centile but they are bang in the middle now, heart was fine in that scan so I'm a little less nervous as I've seen it before. Also got to have scan at 32 weeks as placenta is 2mm too close to cervix so hoping it moves up ! I realy dont want a c section, not sure how that would work this anterior placenta anyway Confused Hope your scan went well !

Sheera1 · 25/06/2020 13:11

Hello. Can I join please? I am 19 weeks today with my second child. My first is 10 so feel like a FTM again. Have forgotten in all!

My scan isn't till 21 weeks which is annoying. Two weeks tomorrow.

I had loads of nausea till about 14 weeks then it eased off gradually. Feel massive already. I had an MMC at 12 weeks before this, so technically my 3rd pregnancy and my bump just sprang out.

I have been feeling movements since 13 weeks. Little taps hut now def some more pronounced thumps. Apparently I have an anterior placenta but still feeling them. Always really low down and on one side though.

mellymoo86 · 25/06/2020 18:55

@Persiaclementine glad your scan went well and I'm sure the placenta will shift away from cervix...you've got some time yet so fingers crossed!

My scan was fine. Had to get up and jump around a bit as the lady couldn't see the end of her spine. Eventually ended up doing a internal scan and she got the info she needed. Baby is 349 grams lol, so cute.

Omg I'm trying not to melt right now. 🙈😫

@Persiaclementine that's exactly the same as me, although I've got to go back at 34 weeks. I really dont want a c section either.... fingers crossed it moves up for us!!

mellymoo86 · 26/06/2020 22:12

Hi ladies just to let you know a couple of us have set up a WhatsApp group. If you want to join please private message me your number.

Hey. Please can I join? Twins, technically due on 26th Nov but have been told they will bring them some time between 5th and 12th. Scan a week on Wednesday to find out what flavour they are!
Is anyone else really struggling in this heat?!
