Pain in fingers and toes - third trimester

Hi ladies,

This might be a bit of a strange one but I'm 32+4 today and for the last week or two have had quite a bit of pain in my fingers and toes. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think my fingers/hands might be carpal tunnel syndrome but they seem to be getting worse and I'm starting to lose my grip and drop things. My wrists/palms feel fine, it's the actual finger joints that are hurting and seizing up.

My toes are worse in the morning and I'm finding it painful to walk when I first get up and for a couple of hours afterwards but then this eases as the day goes on. It's specifically my toes rather than my whole feet.

My hands and feet are slightly swollen (mostly at night) but I think just normal pregnancy swelling.

Anyone else having the same issues? Any tips to relieve it? I've tried hot and cold treatments, hand/feet 'masks', stretching, resting etc

Yes, I’ve had pains in my hands, specifically the joints in my fingers. No idea why! I don’t have any tips for it. In my feet I haven’t had it specifically in my toes but my feet feel like I’ve been wearing heels when I’ve been barefoot. Really strange. Elevating them and getting a vigorous foot massage has helped a bit with that.

@Lovelostnfoundx thanks for replying and sorry you're experiencing similar.
A vigorous foot massage would be amazing but got no-one to give me one of those!! Might book in when the salons reopen!

I’m currently 29+1 and starting to experience this. I had it in my last pregnancy but mostly after delivery and my doctor advised anti inflammatories which barely helped. He had told me at the time that it’s from hormonal changes. I used to wake up with totally locked fingers and couldn’t pick up the baby for a few minutes until it settled.

The only thing I find helps at the moment is elevating my feet where possible but nothing for the hands unfortunately.

I could of written this myself.. currently 32 weeks and I think it's just another one of the crappy pregnancy symptoms we have to put up with 😔 it's really hard going getting up in the morning! I physically feel your pain! XxX

Sorry you ladies are experiencing this too! It's really making me worried for when baby is here that I'll struggle to lift and hold her!

Pregnancy does some weird things to the human body!
