Pregnant with baby number two

Hey,
I've just found out I'm pregnant with number two. Me and DH decided two weeks ago we were going to start TTC, and I don't know why but this morning I just felt like I needed to do a test and somehow I got two positives and a pregnant 3+ on a clear blue (obviously my coil didn't work!)

Obviously were very happy although a little shocked, however our DS is only 10 months so starting to freak out a little about having two under two 😂 it took 18 months to get pregnant with DS so was not expecting this to happen so soon!

Also since DS was born my periods have been all over the place so I have no idea how far gone I actually am. I'm going to ring my doctor in the morning but does anyone know whether I will be sent for an early scan for dating?

Hello!

Congratulations- I've been posting similar - I did a text Wednesday evening last week feeling so sick and it was positive - knew I hadn't got pregnant in the last 4 weeks and so was confused about dates etc as I've had a bleed I'd assumed was a period...

I called GP and had a phone appointment - was referred to Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit on Thursday and had a scan on Friday - I'm 10+3 and due mid Jan 2021

I have another little one who is 18 months 🙂

Hello and congratulations!! I'm in a similar position myself except we weren't trying. My little one is 21 months and still breastfed and showing no signs of stoping :| so I'm beyond worried about how it's going to go having two! We'd recently gotten rid of all our baby stuff too as we hadn't planned on having another for a couple of years :') fate had other ideas! I'm currently 8+4 and have absolutely no energy! Anyone else feel the same? X

Congratulations :) yes you’ll definitely be sent for an early scan - perhaps I misread but is your coil still in? Your doctor will need to talk to you about removing it but should organise a scan first.

Sorry for not getting back to you all sooner!!

No I had my coil out three weeks ago 😊

I asked this morning about an early scan and they won't scan me just because I don't know how far gone I am 🙄 so we're paying for a private one which isn't ideal but hey!

I always feel like I have no enegety chasing after DS 😂 hard to tell but I definitely feel worse recently.

@jellybean218 hello - my little one is 18 months and also still BF with a vengeance! Lockdown has made it really tough to try and cut down but it's so sore at the moment and I'm so nauseous so it's making it really hard work!

How annoying you'd gotten rid of so much stuff 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've spoken to my local maternity team today and have my 12 week scan booked for 6th July - it doesn't feel real at the moment! (Apart from the nausea and nipple pain!)

jellybean218 · 22/06/2020 16:10

@jess348 oh I know! Lockdown has made breastfeeding so much more intense for many so I've been reading! My little boy has been feeding like a newborn again, it's so hard with all the symptoms isn't it. I've read about nursing aversion in later pregnancy too which worries me. How are you feeling in general? Many symptoms? And oh have you! I have my scan July 9th, I'll be nub theory'ing it :') I know, looks like I have to buy baby stuff again! Can't believe I got rid of it all :') x

jess348 · 23/06/2020 10:33

@jellybean218 so hard!

I've been incredibly tired and nauseous and my nipples feel like they are really bruised...

I'm really looking forward to the 12 week scan so we can know for sure an EDD and start making plans...

We probably need to move and there's so much that needs to happen before we do... feeling overwhelmed but know that everything will happen as it's meant to!

How are you?

jellybean218 · 23/06/2020 18:42

@jess348 ouch that sounds painful! Hope they ease off soon! Mine are just a bit tender not too bad luckily.. I'm just waiting for the nausea to bugger off Hmm

Yeahh can't wait for the 12 week scan either! Know for definite when we're due.. I'll buy my first baby item after my scan too eeeee! Little baby grow or something so it sinks in properly.

It's so nerve wrecking when you have so much to do before baby is born and it we don't have much time to do it really :') we need to move too, more stressful with covid going on too!

I'm not feeling as sick today, still lingering all day but isn't as intense. How're you? X
