Hey! I promised myself I wouldn’t do this but I am going out of my mind 😭. I had the test done last Thursday (I was 10+1 and I am 11 today)

Has anyone had their test done there? They said it can take between 5-7 working days but sometimes 2 weeks?? They say they said that due to covid though and normally doesn’t.

I have my nhs 12 week scan on Monday and I really wanted to find out before then, even better before the weekend so I am not going crazy whe I don’t even have work to focus on.

Thanks xx

Mine took 6 working days (had blood drawn on a Saturday afternoon, results emailed two Mondays later).

underthewestway · 17/06/2020 18:51

Hi there, I had mine there on Friday 20/12/19 and got the results back on 30/12/19. So if you take public holidays and weekends out it was a turnaround of 4 working days, which I thought was super quick given it was during the holidays. But don’t know how Covid will have affected that; even so I’d imagine you have a good chance of getting it back by Monday.

Good luck!

bookgirl1982 · 17/06/2020 18:55

I would phone, i called after a week and they were happy to let me have the result before the second scan.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 17/06/2020 19:00

I was allowed to get mine after 10 days so that I'd have the results by Father's Day with my DD. I had the 10 weeks special package.

I'm actually booked in to go there again in two weeks for this pregnancy too.

They're very accommodating so I'd ask them.

KateJ59 · 18/06/2020 10:41

Thanks all. Today will be 5 working days (I went in at 6pm last Thursday so I presume it got shipped on Friday)

I am just really hoping I get it before the weekend as my anxiety is super high and just finding it really hard, also would love to know before my scan on Monday with the nhs as if they show something in scan that's worth worrying about, and I still haven't heard it will be pretty painful.

Also - I was hoping if I heard today or tomorrow I could then go in to the Fetal Medicine Center and have the NT Scan with them (as part of package) so I don't have to do it twice, and then just have a midwife app with NHS.

I just called them and they said it will likely be another week, so next Thursday. And I broke down in tears on the phone to her 😅. If I have to do this week again, next week. This week i swear has been the slowest of the whole pregnancy so far! X

Hiya. Hope you get your results soon. I had my bloods taken at 10 weeks and we only found out the results when we went in for the 12 weeks scan although the sonographer was a little bit surprised we when we said that the results weren't communicated to us beforehand. But they did say it can take up to 10 working days.
Hope all goes well for you.

KateJ59 · 19/06/2020 11:36

Update - I found out today and it was all low chance, 1:10,000 - we are thrilled and relieved and now can go to our dating scan with NHS on Monday :) x

I’m so glad that all is ok!

I love the FMC. I have all my scans there, they are excellent.

bluemonday2020 · 19/06/2020 16:47

Hi @KateJ59 awesome news!! Did you end up getting the results by email today or did they tell you on the phone? I am also waiting for mine, I did the blood test last Sat so today has been 5 business days. I was thinking of giving them a call on Monday maybe, I’m so impatient!!

Billyjoearmstrong · 19/06/2020 16:56

@bluemonday2020 I got mine by email.

KateJ59 · 19/06/2020 17:21

I wish i had have gotten this done, sadly i didnt realise at the time that the anomaly scan does not pick up on everything and now im far into my pregnancy which i am so grateful for but out of my mind with worry about conditions it may have such as downs etc. Iv had 5 normal scans and havnt been given a reason to worry other than my mind going crazy!!!!

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 05/07/2020 13:08

I had my blood drawn Friday so now waiting for my results.

I was 10+6 at my appointment. Does anyone know if they'd be looking for Down's syndrome markers at the scan I just had? And if they saw anything, would they say anything?

I'm extremely nervous about my results.

When I had my first scan there at 10 weeks (as part of the harmony package) she did mention that the neck was thin so she didn’t think DS would be an issue at all. That’s all she said on it though.
KateJ59 · 05/07/2020 18:05

When I had my scan there @ 10 weeks they just did the viability but did say nice things etc but didn't point out any markers as it was too early. When I went back for the NT scan once I had my results that's when they looked more closely.

I know it's so hard, I found it very nerve wracking I wish I could give words to make you feel better but you do have to try and keep busy distract yourself. Praying for you that all will be perfectly fine! @AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings xx

I've booked myself in for mid august for my 10 + 12 week harmony package scan at the FMC, happy to see here that people are having positive experiences there!

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 09/07/2020 22:14

@billyjoearmstrong @KateJ59 thank you for your kind replies. I'm not sure why I'm so nervous. I thought I'd be getting my results next Thursday when I was next going in there. And I was really chill about that. But, now they've said I could get them in 5-10 working days I feel sick with fear.

Dh thinks we'll get the results tomorrow and I think Monday.

Is anyone else finding out the sex too? I wasn't sure but I've got so much stuff from DD that I want a head start on clearing out all the tiny dresses if they're not needed. If it's a boy he'll still be wearing the rest of it though!

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 10/07/2020 20:13

I was hoping to get my results today as it's been one calendar week. So fingers crossed it'll be Monday then.

Positivity2020 · 12/07/2020 08:39

The fetal medical centre team in London are absolutely brilliant. If you are booked in for a harmony test they will also look for markers on the scan ( I believe that is also standard procedure at most other reputable clinics when booking that test )
I’ve always found them to be quick with results and efficient

Wecandothis99 · 12/07/2020 08:46

I phoned and got results I think they are kind of slow at sending on and I couldn't wait to find out the sex. They're happy to help if you call, if they have them.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 14/07/2020 01:00

I took your advice and rang this morning- my results hadn't come in yet, but they refreshed the system and they popped in to the inbox.

Everything was good news - and it's a boy.

So thank you everyone for your kind handholding
