Placenta covering cervix... When to pack hospital bag

So, I was told at 20 weeks my placenta is completely covering my cervix midwife says its unlikely to change.... I'm still holding out hope but she would expect bleeding from around 28 weeks which is coming up soon.... Is it to soon to pack a hospital bag? I need Anti D if I do bleed so have to ring and go in. Would anyone pack now a normal hospital baby and me bag just incase or just have a just me in hospital bag....

Hm, have they offered you a scan at around 32 weeks? I had the same thing at 20 weeks and was told it's 90% likely to move out of the way as my uterus grows. I was also booked in for a scan at 32 weeks to check. Had my scan and the placenta has moved from my cervix now.

Yes have a scan at 28, 32, 36 weeks as they felt sure it wasn't moving at 20 +6 so 21 weeks really.

90% of them move, mine did by the 32 week scan.

I am 35 weeks, mine hasn’t moved and I will be having a section in 2 weeks.

I packed my bags around 32 weeks, as that scan confirmed it hadn’t moved and wouldn’t.

As everyone has said it’s 90% like to move so 🤞🏼 for you xx

Mine had moved by the 36 week scan, only a couple of cm clear of my cervix but sufficient to allow a normal delivery. I did have a bag ready from about 34 weeks though.

If your baby is premature (mine was born at 33 weeks due to placenta praevia) you probably wont need much for the baby as they have everything there , nothing will fit and they don't wear clothes in an incubator.

I would pack a bag for you - I was in for 3 weeks before the baby was born (from 30 weeks). There was a lot of hanging about so take some entertainment!

Sorry that post wasn't meant to scare, my wee one is a very healthy 2 year old now!

I'm hopeful it's moved but don't want to be rushing round trying to grab bits if I need to, can't stand the thought of being in hospital at so just keep convincing myself it's moved 😣

It's not much fun moving between ward and special care unit wearing a gaping hospital gown and short coat!
Neither is coping with missing meals because you were visiting baby .

I was the same as defaultuser spent a few weeks in prior to DD2 being born at 32 weeks. She's 3 now. I'd pack for you now and add bits for baby as the weeks pass.

Yep pack a bag for you. I was super organised / keen and had started collecting bits from about 20(!)weeks then had PPROM and prem baby at 30weeks. DH was thankful for once for my organisational tendencies, less for him to hunt down at 3am!

Just you for a while yet. I started having pp bleeds at 23 weeks and was admitted loads of times.
DS born 36+3 and is now 8.
I think I had a separate bag for his stuff that DH brought in at 35 weeks.

My midwife said the same and at my 32 week scan (2 weeks ago) it had moved well out the way. I would recommend packing early anyway as I’m now 34 weeks and just packed my bag like yesterday. The amount of appointments and stuff to do after 30 weeks totally ramps up so I would just pack it now! I regret not starting sooner
