Hb 138bpm last week and 81bpm today - is it the end?

I guess I'm looking for anyone who's been in a similar position whether the outcome was good or bad.
I had a private scan at 6 weeks and measured as I should 5+ 6, and heartbeat detected at 138bpm. However consultant thought I may have had an ectopic in ovary too. Went for a rescan today after 6 days and it doesn't seems like it was an ectopic or it's resolved as I did have a bleed on Monday. However today's scan was still measuring about 6 weeks, there has been growth but slow and heartbeat was only 81bpm.
A re-scan is suggested in 10 days.
Consultant told me it can go either way. Should I prepare for the worst?
This is my 4th pregnancy and the last 3 resulted in mc. I'm with a consultant who specialises in recurrent mc in Epsom.

I dont know but I suppose it doesnt sound positive and I wanted to say I'm really sorry that this is happening to you xx

Sorry OP it doesn't sound very positive at the moment - how much growth happened in 6 days? Could the scan last week have been wrong about the heartbeat? From experience at 6-7 weeks doctors generally prefer the heartbeat to be 100+ but I've also read stories where everything turned out ok in the end x

@ivfgottostaypositive the scan from Tuesday and yday kind of tally up. They just don't match last weeks scan. My midwife has said it could well have been wrong but that's wishful thinking.
She also said nhs hospitals and epu's don't count heart rate as it's far too early and conflicting in early stages and that's why they don't do it.
I'm just clinging on to hope right now. That's all I can do. I'm doing everything I can in terms of taking meds, cyclogest, vits ans eating the right foods so not really much I can do.
Next appt is a week today xx

I'm so sorry you have gone through all of this op...it's so unfair... ❤️
If you've got to wait a week I would just try and remain cautiously optimistic - you are doing everything you can and there's nothing more you can do, but I will keep everything crossed for you that baby is doing just fine in there 💕 xx

Agree cautiously optimistic. I measured 5.5 at my 8 week scan with a HB. Unfortunately I was sure of my dates so I wasnt as devastated when the worst happened. Some others on BC did have good outcomes in the same circumstances but it was all dependant on their dates being out.

So maybe the first scan was a bit out but dont put all your hope although it does happen.
