Struggled to locate my placenta at 23 weeks scan

Hi, this is a odd question but maybe someone has experienced something similar.

Basically I had my 20 week scan last week but baby was facing away so not everything could be checked so I was booked in for the following week. I was told however my placenta was low and had an internal scan done that showed the placenta was 1.7cm from cervix when it needs to be at least 2cm, anyway I went in yesterday for my scan to be completed and all checks on baby fine, the lady decided to check placenta again even though it was only a week on she thought it looked clear of the cervix with scan but wasn’t sure so did an internal again and she couldn’t find it she proded at me for a good ten minutes before calling someone else into the room who struggled for a while then decided they thought they could see it and decided it was probably clear? This is my third pregnancy and have always assumed it should be quite obvious where the placenta was so am now worried something odd is going on?

Sorry I know it’s random

Hey, wouldn’t worry, placentas move and things can look different depending on whether baby is in the way of the view, your bladder is full, etc. at 1.7cm away at 20 weeks, it was pretty likely to be well clear of the cervix by the end of pregnancy anyway, looks like it’s done that for you a bit quicker. Sorry about all the “prodding”!!

Thanks for responding Smile

I’ve had a low lying placenta in a previous pregnancy that moved out of the way by 35 weeks. I guess I was just a bit confused as to why they couldn’t see it clearly. You’d think by number 3 I’d be more relaxed but but for some reason this ones worrying me🤷🏼‍♀️
