Hi ladies,

I tested positive on Sunday after 3 years (almost) of trying and I just can't get my head around it. I think I'm 5+1.This is my second pregnancy but my first was 9 years ago so I feel like a newbie again.
With my daughter, I knew I was pregnant before the test turned pink and I had symptoms straight away- I fell asleep in New Look while a friend tried on clothes, my breasts were supersensitive, I had stretching pains etc.... This time I only tested at all because my period was a few days late. I've been a bit tired and emotional but that has been the case throughout lock down really. I know I need to call a doctor and get the ball rolling with pre-natal care but it just doesn't feel real.

Can one of you ladies who is a bit more recently experienced with a second pregnancy tell me if your second was wildly different to your first and remind me when stretchy pains, sickness etc actually start? This will be the first and only chance to have a baby with DP (not DD1s dad) so if it's not going to end well I'd rather we don't get too excited in the meantime and right now I just feel so normal

I’m only pregnant with my first (17 weeks) but didn’t have any symptoms at your current stage, and all seems to be going well!

I'm pregnant with my second and they've been quite different so far;

1st sickness everyday & 2nd not even sick once
1st exhausted & 2nd not
1st on 3 iron tablet a day & 2nd none at all

Downsides:
1st outside of hay fever season & 2nd in the depths of it 🤧

Both didn't feel movements until later than average and didn't feel pregnant until 20 weeks onwards.

I guess every women/pregnancy/baby is different and there is no right or wrong Smile

Yes op I'm exactly the same. I'm about 6 weeks with second pregnancy and so far it's so different I'm struggling to believe it's real and keep thinking something is wrong.
With DS I was so sick it was unreal. I don't feel sick at all this time, more lightheaded. Sore boobs both times and keep giving them a shimmy to check! I've booked in an early scan to check how things are but it's not till next weekend

I've just found out I'm pregnant with my second child, 19 and a bit years after I had DD1!

It's very early days - I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant. Part of me wonders if I'm dreaming it, although I'm shattered, nauseous and my breasts are aching. It's been SO long since I was pregnant before, that I really can't remember that much about it all.

I called the booking in line and left details but haven't heard anything back. It really doesn't seem real at the moment!

Thanks ladies. Think I'm just feeling a bit vulnerable and crazy. When we first started trying I was a bit overweight but not hugely. Now I am hugely overweight, have drunk far too much during lockdown and just fear the worst because I'd given up believing it could happen for us after so long trying. We only had sex once last month even. It just feels unreal

Congratulations OP 🥳

If it helps, I’m 34 weeks and still sometimes wonder if it’s all in my head... pregnancy is a huge and bizarre concept 🤯🤣 I imagine that’s magnified when you’ve been trying for such a long time. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
