15 weeks pregnant what to expect

So I’m about 15 weeks now and just wondered by how I should be feeling.

Apart from still being off pasta and slightly tender breasts the only thing I have been feeling is some cramping. Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried?

Is cramping at this stage still normal?

Thanks Smile

@Piggle21 there's no such thing as how you 'should' be feeling at this stage I'm afraid as every woman and every pregnancy is different.

Just from my own personal experience, I found weeks 15-20 a weird stage of pregnancy as my symptoms pretty much vanished and I didn't feel very pregnant. I did have the odd episode of sickness but nothing like I had in the first trimester and I got my appetite back with a vengeance.
I think it was seeing baby on the scan at 20 weeks that kind of 'made me feel pregnant' again but I still didn't have many symptoms again (aside from tiredness) until the 3rd trimester.

Light cramping and stretching type pains I've had on and off throughout my whole pregnancy (I'm now 31 weeks)

Hiya. I’m 15 weeks today and I’m still getting the odd cramp, don’t forget our bodies are still stretching and changing Smile seems all normal to me! I had a scan at 14+3 and baby was very happy in there so not worried at all, you shouldn’t worry either.

Thank you both - I used to have quite high anxiety which seems to be coming back again during this time. We haven’t told any friends or family yet so having no one to speak to is hard too.

Thanks both though for your advice 😊

I am 16 weeks and never really had any symptoms! I’ve also been having the cramping too. Apparently it’s round ligament pain which tends to happen around this time and is very common and normal. I put a hot water bottle on my bump (it had a fluffy cover) for 10 minute intervals last night and that has eased the cramps massively.

@Piggle21 I agree it’s hard when you can’t speak to anyone about it, it’s a shame that a lot of women go through the first trimester alone because we feel we shouldn’t tell yet. Are you planning to spill your secret soon?

Persiaclementine · 10/06/2020 15:50

To be honest not alot, you might feel some stretching pains within the next couple of weeks but hats about it realy

Piggle21 · 10/06/2020 16:16

In the films they always make this look so easy and carefree! I think I worry about whether what I feel is normal and when you google you get different answers. It seems so long too between seeing someone at the doctors. I had my scan almost two weeks ago and now won’t see a midwife until next month.

@Bettie2192 no we are keeping it quiet for as long as. I had a miscarriage with my last pregnancy and have had a lot of struggles with IVF to get to this point so we decided to keep quiet. But it would be so nice to talk to friends who have had children just for reassurance

Xx

Hi OP,

I’m 15 weeks too. Some mild stretching and cramping this week. So normal, don’t worry. My breasts are sore and I’m tired but that’s it! Second trimester is lovely for just this reason. I struggle with anxiety too so understand completely Flowers

Bettie2192 · 10/06/2020 17:14

@Piggle21 I’m so sorry to hear that, but wonderful news that you have your little 15 week bubba :) what about telling just one close friend who also has kids? That way IF the worst happened (which it won’t) you will have someone to lean on. But I understand it’s easier said than done, I had a MC and had to deal with it all by myself (except for DH).

Piggle21 · 10/06/2020 17:20

@Bettie2192 I guess I am just scared about saying anything in case it all goes wrong which I know is silly. But I think your right telling one person might make it easier than worrying about anything and everything on my own.

@Foreverbaffled thank you it’s so good to hear from others. Anxiety sucks so much!

Completely understand, I'm also 15 weeks and feel that a lot of my symptoms have gone which is a concern. Even more so as I'm suffering from a UTI and so having a lot of pain and cramping from that. 😐

Piggle21 · 10/06/2020 19:14

@Clemmie83 oh no I’m so sorry hope you feel better soon. UTI’s are the worst and I imagine even more so at this moment. Sending lots of healing hugs xxx

@Piggle21 Thanks, I've never had one before but heard they're common in pregnancy! 🙈
