20 week growth scan WORRIED baby’s head small

Hey guys

My baby’s head is measuring 16% percentile on my scan. Everything else is around 60%. Absolutely terrified after looking on google. They told me not to worry but surely this is abnormal? My husbands brother has sever learning difficulties and we were worried it could be genetic even though we were told this is a very small chance.

Since reading online this can indicate learning difficulties if the baby’s head is small. The sonographer told me it’s fine but it doesn’t look that way when looking online at others story’s ?

Just looking for advice please if anyone else has had a similar experience

Thanks

@Cherir20 my babies head was very close to the 5th percentile at my 20 week scan and everything else was 50th percentile upwards. Was quite worried it was disproportionate to other measurements but sonographer said all was fine.

I had another growth scan (for an unrelated reason- I have OC) at 29 weeks and it had moved up to the 25th percentile. Its just likely that your little ones head is smaller or is growing a little slower but it's within the 'normal averages' so please don't worry if the sonographer isn't concerned.

Just think, a slightly smaller head means 'crowning' in labour might not be so bad 😅
