28 weeks and too much weight gain - how much more to expect?

At booking in (9 weeks) my BMI was 22.22, so in the middle. I was 66kg. Now, at 28 weeks I weigh a whopping 80kg, an increase of 14kg. I read you’re meant to put on 12kg across the whole pregnancy. Given I’ve got another trimester to go, can I expect another 7kg?! I’m not eating excessively and I’m eating healthily. I suppose I could cut down calories but that’s one more stress I don’t need

I had put on 16 kilo by 28 weeks and put on nothing after that. I also know friends who have gained nothing by 28 weeks and then piled on the weight in the last trimester. Everyone is so different . I wouldn’t worry too much ! I don’t think that’s too much weight gain at all ! You’ll be surprised how easily it comes off after .

I gained basically nothing with dd but packed it on once she was here. I ate sugary junk due to being so tired and hormonal.
I wouldn’t stress too much, we’re all different and as long as you’re eating as healthily as you can. You could mention your concerns to your midwife and see what they say.

Hi OP. I'm 24 weeks and I've already piled on 12kg (27lb)
I put on 5lb in my first trimester and the other 22lb since.
I was a size 10 at the start of my pregnancy and I'm now a size 12 so I'm all bump and baby!
My DH is a big guy and all boys in his family were 10lb plus when born, so I know I'm screwed already 😂
With 16 weeks to go I reckon I'll be at least another 20lb heavier!
I don't over eat as much as I did in my first trimester and early into my second. I've cut down on a lot of sugary foods but I do still snack. Being at home hasn't helped.
Every woman's weight gain varies drastically depending on your size, shape, baby, amniotic fluid etc.
Don't panic too much, but if you are concerned have a chat with your midwife x

I gained over 2stone with twins, but slimmed right back down after delivery - just mention it to your midwife so they can check for Gestational Diabetes etc

@Babylifewife I was a size 8/10 prepregancy and now at 24 weeks I'm already a size 12. Dont know how much I've put on because I dont weigh myself. I exercise everyday and eat healthily, but my body just wants to pile on and stock the fat.

Hi OP, try not to worry if you’re eating relatively healthily, everyone puts on different amounts of weight at different times in their pregnancies.

I have always been slim but in my first two pregnancies put on 4 stone (approx 28kg) both times, most of it in the third trimester. I did loose nearly all of it again both times within 6 months of the births. I was eating healthily but in hindsight I was eating a lot of it! And I also had a bit of a craving for full fat milk Grin

I am 26 weeks pregnant and have only put on 7kg so far - I imagine this will increase a lot in the next few months but I have ditched the excessive milk this time Blush!

Thank-you so much ladies, I’m sure lockdown and lack of being out and about isn’t helping. I will make sure I stay conscious of it all for the next few weeks x
