Hi everyone,
I’m new to mumsnet and I have just found out that I am pregnant! Based on the first day of my last period, I am just over 6 weeks which is crazy. However as I am a first time mum, I feel as if I am not pregnant and I’m quite anxious about it. I know this sounds weird but does anyone else feel or have felt like this when they were pregnant, or if you feel like this now??? I’ve taken 2 tests and they were both positive but it just seems so long waiting until my first scan for them to confirm it!

Congrats and welcome to mumsnet! With each pregnancy, I've had symptoms, so I certainly felt pregnant, but I know what you mean. You could always book a private scan at 7-8 weeks to make it feel more 'real'.

Have you referred yourself to the midwifery team? In my area you can self-referral without speaking to your GP, but each area is different. x

Hi and thank you! I have a couple of symptoms; sore boobs & fatigue etc but I still might book a private scan. I have self referred to the hospital so I’m just waiting to hear back from them.

congrats on your pregnancy @Blacklist123!

I'm 10.5 weeks now and was very similar to you. Then one day I woke up feeling like I had a terrible hangover and it's not really gone away!

I agree with @Elouera, we had a scan at 9 weeks and took reassurance from the strong heartbeat

In the last 2 weeks, my boobs have almost doubled and I've had no bleeding so just hoping and praying that's good news :)

Congratulations and welcome.
It's normal to have all the symptoms and it's equally normal to have none.
I had both, extreme sickness and tiredness with dd and then I was one of the lucky ones with ds. I didn't suffer at all until about 12 weeks with round ligament pain, which lasted a few weeks. I had salt cravings for the second trimester but that was all.

Like @Elouera suggests if you want to make it more real get yourself a private scan.

Enjoy it and personally I'd hope for a peaceful pregnancy!

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve changed my username to ‘marisa1998’. Congratulations to all of you who are pregnant. I hope you all have health pregnancies! And thank you for the advice! I have just booked a private scan for this Thursday coming up so I’m hoping I will have some reassurance 😊
