Anyone in Dumfries? Is an Epidural offered or can it be requested?

Also feel free to provide details of the trust you're in if it's not Dumfries.

I have had vaginismus in the past and would ideally want an epidural as I will most likely need a natural birth as I have a blood platelet issue and a c section may not be advisable.

You need to contact the hospital directly. Are you under the care of a consultant who will make a birth plan with you? Epidural is fairly standard in obstetric units but if you have low platelets it may not be an option. You may need to seek a referral to an anaesthetic to discuss alternative methods of pain relief of this is the case.

Anaesthetist not anaesthetic. Stupid American autocorrect.
