Membrane sweep

I'm 40+1 weeks pregnant and just had a membrane sweep so was wondering how soon after did your waters break or contractions started? Having so much pain in my hips and ready for labour to start now 😫

I had two, went into labour naturally a few days later. I made the midwife go to town on me on the 2nd and I think that's what did it! Good luck 💖

I had 4 with DC1 and it didn't work. He was born at 42 +2!
DC2 I had 3 sweeps then the fourth was done by a dr, who, in the words of my husband had shovels and my waters went within 12 hours.

I had mine at 4pm on the Wednesday and my waters broke the following morning at 8am. Was 39wks. I did have an unsuccessful sweep a couple of days before that though.

@bessmarvin thank you me too!! Got excited this morning as had period pains and back cramps. But they've eased off, still no plug or waters! Currently bouncing on the birthing ball hoping something might happen

I had one on a Thursday with my first and was in labour on the Sunday
