TMI normal early pregnancy symptoms?

Hi everyone,

This is not something I thought I would be talking about, never mind so publicly!

I am 6+1 with my first pregnancy. Bang on five weeks, I started waking up earlier than usual feeling incredibly nauseous, and although there is a whole lot of dry heaving, no sick.

Along with feeling nauseous though, I have had diarrhoea every morning three or four times (Sorry, tmi I know!). Both symptoms tend to pass before the afternoon at which point I feel fine.

Is this normal?? No one tells you the amount of anxiety pregnancy creates and I am hoping that I worrying over nothing... Am I?

Hi. I had this around the 8 week mark where I would have diarrhoea. Pre-pregnancy I was constipated often (tmi) so was expecting it to be even worse so was surprised that I wasn’t. Some people tend to go either way it seems.
I also did my own thread on it and got some reassuring answers from a lot of women who had the same so it seems to be a common symptom! Unfortunately!

Thanks @Chwil20, that is reassuring. Not the best symptom but as long as it is normal, I'll survive :)

I had this very early on too! Diarrhoea every morning for about 7-10 days. It did settle though and then a couple of weeks later the wonderful pregnancy constipation kicked in which I've suffered with ever since! I think I'd prefer the diarrhoea back 😂

Frazzlerock · 02/06/2020 12:18

I've had this every morning and I'm now 14+5 weeks and its not easing.
It wakes me up at 5 or 6am every morning. I'm hoping it eases soon!

Frazzlerock · 02/06/2020 12:19

It only lasts once though, fine the rest of the day

NewAndConfused · 02/06/2020 16:41

Thanks everyone, you have reassured me that it's normal - fingers crossed it will sort itself out!

I had the opposite - nightmare! Whether going too much or not often enough, it really is a (literal) pain in the arse. Hope you feel better soon.

I had diarrhoea evry morning during week 6. It really freaked me out so I totally get your worry! But everything was fine Smile. I did change my pregnancy vits around the time it stopped, so I don't know if that had an impact.

NewAndConfused · 02/06/2020 18:46

@cheeseoncheese,Ooh really? Which pregnancy vitamins did you use? I’ll try anything 😂

@WhatWouldPennyDo you are so right, it’s a pain in the arse!

@NewAndConfused so I'd switched from Boots Conception to standard Pregnacare about 2 days before the bad pooing started, began to wonder if there was a connection, switched to Boots Pregnancy and it cleared up in about another 2-3 days! May have been a crazy coincidence. But if it wasn't, I put it down to the higher levels of iron in Pregnacare - constipates most people but (according to what a GP told my mum re. unrelated iron pills) goes the other way for a smaller percentage of people! There's still iron in Boots but not as much and I'm just trying to be really on it with getting as much iron from my diet as possible.

Good luck!!! I really hope it clears up for you x
