Not sure but i remember ds hiccuping lots. Never knew this was something to worry about.

fee1234 · 31/05/2020 09:05

I'm 31 weeks too and I feel her hiccup every day at least once or twice, it's probably more but I'm too busy running after 1 year old DS to notice. He also hiccuped loads inside me and then for the first few weeks after he was born.

londongirl12 · 31/05/2020 09:18

My DS hiccuped loads more towards the end. It's such a weird feeling! I told the midwife but she didn't see an issue and he was totally fine.

DD had hiccups ALL the time, at least once day. I didn't know it was anything to worry about. She is fine!

CraazyCatLady · 31/05/2020 09:29

My baby had hiccups all the time too. 2-3 times a day. When she was born, she also had the hiccups a lot. I was never worried. 😊

clo1992 · 31/05/2020 10:00

I read this thing on internet saying 4 times daily could mean something wrong with baby's cord. I was like 😱
She must have hiccups 4 times a day and she get them in the night. I'm struggling with reduced movements this morning again so no doubt I'll have to go into triage 😖

Hi OP

I’m 33 weeks and my boy gets the hiccups about 3/4 x a day every day without fail!

I was in hospital on Thursday for some routine CTG monitoring and I asked my midwife if that was a concern as I read the same thing and she said a clinician at the hospital had done a study and it is deffo a good thing! She said it was akin to seeing breathing on a monitor!

My baby had hiccups every day without fail when in utero. Same thing now she's 10 months old she gets them every day 😂

Notmyusualnamenosiree · 31/05/2020 11:17

Hiccups, I wouldn't worry. Reduced movement. Yes, get seen.

Girlmum91 · 31/05/2020 11:18

My baby had hiccups every day!!! This brings back memories, I'd totally forgotten. She's fine btw Smile

clo1992 · 31/05/2020 12:58

Hi all. Iv been in to triage as baby has gone in her usual odd position where I can't feel her 😭
Frightens me to death!! But trace was all good :)
Mentioned the hiccups and they said all good signs as baby is practising sucking/drinking/breathing so that's good :)
Hopefully she has a shuffle soon so I can feel her again

My DD hiccuped a lot in utero then also did for a while after she was born. No idea why but I never questioned it.

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 31/05/2020 13:40

OP I read the same as you and have been worried. My baby boy hiccups 2 sometimes 3 times a day. I'm 32 weeks. This thread has reassured me!

HouseOfMedici · 01/06/2020 10:52

Drink lots of ice cold water - that sometimes helps with getting baby moving around.

mrs87 · 01/06/2020 15:35

Silly question... But how do you know when it's hiccups? I'm 26 weeks and not felt anything I would attribute to hiccups yet, but then everything is a bit muffled for me with an anterior placenta. But what do I look out for when it is hiccups? Hmm

3isthemagicnumber3 · 01/06/2020 15:50

My first daughter had hiccups all the time several times a day. She was 8.5 pounds born and very healthy, so I don’t think there was anything wrong with her cord!

Evenstar · 01/06/2020 16:00

DS1 was constantly hiccuping and was 11 days overdue weighing almost 10lbs!

MrsRose2018 · 01/06/2020 19:49

@mrs87

I first felt them about 25 weeks I think and it is like a rhythmic "tapping" every 2 seconds! Lighter and not with the force of a kick or a movement but actually still pretty damn annoying 😂

Changedforthisman · 01/06/2020 19:53

Mine would have 3 or 4 sets a day and I worried too. I asked a consultant and he looked bemused. She was born with the cord wrapped around her neck but then that’s not uncommon. She hiccuped a lot in the first year too!

mineofuselessinformation · 01/06/2020 19:57

Dc2 used to hiccup for up to two hours at a time.....

clo1992 · 01/06/2020 20:06

It's good to no my baby's not the only one then 🙈
She's had them 3 times today. Sometimes I wake at night and she's hiccuping 😂
