I'm 31 weeks pregnant and needing to wee ALL THE TIME. Even straight after going sometimes. Is that normal in pregnancy or sign of an infection? No burning our anything when going. Had a test at the GP and they said they while there was a little bit of bacteria present it wasn't enough to show an infection.. She did ask my symptoms and said I could have antibiotics if I wanted but it was my choice and I declined... Now I'm wondering if I did the right thing Confused. Any advice would be appreciated!

Morning @specialkakapo 🙂

I had a UTI, found at my 12 week appointment. I didn't really have any obvious symptoms, the only thing I can think of was that I needed a wee more often and didn't feel relieved afterwards, almost like I still needed to go. I was surprised too, but after taking antibiotics I felt a lot better 🙂 Hope that helps!

Thanks kwazycupcakes - yeah, that's helpful, thank you. I actually had an "official" UTI at 8 weeks with no symptoms at all (although no one told me till 16 weeks and by that time it had gone 🙄) . It's all so confusing! I don't want to put my baby at risk by not getting it treated but also don't want to take unnecessary antibiotics. Gah!

I had 2 during pregnancy one I didn't even know about that got picked up at my initial bloods and one at about 30 weeks which was needing to wee constantly and back ache. Also had thrush For the first time
Ever oh the joys of pregnancy.

I had a UTI around 16 weeks.

I urgently needed to go to the toilet constantly but when I went, hardly anything would come out....like literally a dribble. As soon as I left the bathroom, I'd feel the urgent need to go straight back in but, again, there would only be a tiny bit of urine come out. It was awful.

I was given antibiotics and it cleared up straight away. The doctor said that an untreated UTI can lead to an infection of the womb which is dangerous to unborn babies so she said it's not something you should ever ignore.

I'm 29 weeks now and forever going to the toilet but its just baby pressing down on my bladder. It feels totally different to the UTI

I get recurring UTIs outside of pregnancy. Usualy 1 to 2 a month. Most needing antibiotics.

Currently 10+ weeks and had my first symptoms of a UTI this week. It's likely I've had it longer but the pregnancy symptoms masked it.

Got a slight ache in my bladder when urinating. Had a burning pee first thing in the morning. And a constant burn on and off throughout the day. Those symptoms only lasted one day but I've got a weeks course of antibiotics. I know from experience it's still there!

I’d go from not needing to wee to having to go right that second! It was constant as well and I would often go to the toilet and nothing would happen because I couldn’t possibly need to wee that much!

It went away but at my next appointment, my midwife gave me antibiotics for it because it was still in my system.
