Is sudden low mood normal in pregnancy?

Hi everyone!

Im 23+5 weeks and noticing that I'm suffering from low mood this week, but its sporadic and slightly unsettling. For example, I've been fine all morning today, but then since lunchtime I've felt very low and down for no real reason. I just dont have any motivation or inspiration to do anything.

I'm also getting patches of feeling so exhausted! I've been trying to walk for an hour 5 days a week but otherwise am just at my computer all day so it seems ridiculous to be this tired.

Is the sudden low mood and exhaustion normal at this stage? It's kind of worrying me and I dont know if its just hormones or a combination of hormones and lockdown 🤷‍♀️

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks 🙂

I suffered from low moods about 2/3rds into my pregnancy. It was really weird, I had no reason to feel sad and logically was not sad but it was almost like the "sad" tap in my brain was leaking.

I went to the doctor about it and mentioned it to my midwives. The doctor offered sertraline which I turned down and the midwives said they could refer me to talk therapy if I wanted. I turned both down but I kept an eye on the low mood and it eventually went away.
I would have gone for the therapy if I had felt more concerned about it.

I did worry it meant I was gonna get PND but I had no issues with PND after baby arrived.

Hope your mood improves soon! Do bring it up with your midwife, I'm sure they've heard it all before and they'll be able to help.
